Eficacia de la sugestión en el manejo postoperatorio del dolor en heridas de emergencia ambulatoria / Effectiveness of suggestion in the postoperative management of pain in wounds at the outpatient emergency room

Se realizó un estudio prospectivo, causi-experimental de campo, en 42 pacientes de la población de Chichiriviche, Municipio Monseñor Iturriza, Estado Falcón; con edades comprendidas entre 20 y 35 años que presentaban heridas de emergencia ambulatoria. Se procedió a dividirles en 2 grupos al azar sistemático. El grupo A recibió una técnica de sugestión (Técnica de Schultz) y un placebo y el grupo B recibió Ibuprofeno 400 mg vía oral cada 8 horas, ambos grupos recibieron terapia antibiótica concurrente, con cefadroxilo 500 mg cada 12 horas. Obteniéndose los siguientes resultados: La técnica de sugestión de Schultz mostró una eficacia como analgésico del 90,4 por ciento en las primeras 24 horas y del 95,2 por ciento a las 48 horas. El Ibuprofeno mostró una eficacia analgésica de 71,4 por ciento a las 24 horas y de 85,7 por ciento a las 48 horas. No se obtuvieron diferencias significativas estadísticamente (p>0,05) entre la sugestión y el Ibuprofeno en el manejo de postoperatorio del dolor de heridas de emergencia, por lo que se concluye que ambos presentan similar efectividad

Superoxide dismutase from Trichuris ovis, inhibiton by benzimidazoles and pyrimidine derivatives

Three superoxide dismutase isoenzymes of different cellular location were detected in an homogenate of Thrichuris ovis. Each of these molecular forms was purified by differential centrifugation and precipitation with ammonium sulphate, followed by chromatography on DEAE-cellulose and Sephadex G-75 columns. The activity levels of the two molecular forms detected in the mitochondrial (one cyanide sensitive Cu-Zn-SOD and the other cyanide intensitive Mn-Sod were higher than that of the superoxide dismutase detected in the cytoplasmic fraction (cyanid sensitive Cu-Zn-SOD). All the mollecular forms present evident differences to the SODs contained in the host liver. Molecular mass and some of the physical and chemical aproperties of the enzyme was determined for all three molecular forms. An inhibitory effect on the SOD of the parasite an the host was detected with a series of compounds, some of wich markedly inhibited parasite ensyme but not host enzyme
