ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the effect of double cypress powder (DCP) combined with TDP irradiation on lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion and summarize nursing experience. Methods One hundred and twenty-five patients with lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion were randomized into the observation group and control group. The control group was treated with massage and electro-acupuncture and the observation group received DCP fumigation combined with TDP irradiation besides treatments the controls received. The two groups were compared in terms of pain level and curative effect after two courses of treatment.Result The score on pains by VAS in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group and the curative effect was better than that in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion On the basis of the massage,electro-acupuncture and moxibustion therapy,DCP combined with TDP irradiation is therapeutically effective in the reduction of the pains from lumbar disc protrusion.

ABSTRACT

@# Objective To explore the perioperative nursing care of cooled radiofrequency for refractory craniofacial postherpetic neuralgia. Methods 13 refractory craniofacial postherpetic neuralgia patients were reviewed. Results Visual analogue score significantly decreasedafter the treatment (P<0.01), and severe dropsy after treatment was relieved in 2~3 weeks. Conclusion The cooled radiofrequency iseffective on refractory craniofacial postherpetic neuralgia, while the perioperative nursing care was safe, feasible, and worthy for more application.

ABSTRACT

@#Objective To explore a modality of ambulatory nursing care applied to the elderly patients with severe trigeminal neuralgia treated by radiofrequency thermocoagulation.Methods42 patients were equally assigned into 2 groups: group A(n=21) aged from 40~60, and group B(n=21) aged from 80~92. Pertinent nursing measures were assessed for risks of ambulatory surgery, including psychological care before surgery and intensive observation during surgery. The pain was assessed with Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) between the groups and before and after surgery, as well as complications.ResultsNo significant difference of the VAS scores was found between the groups before and 2 weeks after surgery (P>0.05), while the score of VAS decreased in two groups 2 weeks after surgery(P<0.01). No severe complication occured in the groups after surgery.ConclusionIt is safe and effective to apply the modality of ambulatory nursing care for the elderly patients with severe trigeminal neuralgia treated by radiofrequency thermocoagulation.

ABSTRACT

@#Objective To explore a new modality of nursing care and convalescence guide for ambulatory (day) surgery of cervical disc herniation with CT guided multi-point radiofrequency (RF) thermocoagulation and target ablation. Methods 16 cases were reviewed. Results All the cases recovered satisfactorily without any complications. Conclusion The new modality of nursing care and convalescence guide is effective on RF for cervical disc herniation.
