ABSTRACT

At the dawn of psychoanalysis, Freud presented the notion of psychic reality, in which the power of desire predominates, and where religion would be a desired illusion. Furthermore, religion can be used as an element of resistance to human degradation, or it can also serve to promote social alienation. In the contemporary world, it resurrects in the face of the shock of modernism, in the reformulation of modern rationality.
