ABSTRACT

Se realizó un estudio de casos y controles de los pacientes con conducta suicida, pertenecientes al Policlínico Docente Carlos M Ramírez Corría del municipio de San Luis, durante el 2007, a fin de determinar los factores de riesgo psicosociales que influyeron, de forma determinante, en dicho comportamiento. El grupo de estudio contempló a 18 integrantes; y el tomado como control, 36. Los factores: sentimiento de desesperanza y culpa, depresión mayor, hostilidad, impulsividad, antecedentes de intento suicida, ausencia de apoyo familiar y social, así como amenaza o proyecto suicida tuvieron una acentuada relación significativa de causalidad con la conducta suicida, no así el antecedente de suicidio familiar


A case-control study was carried out in patients with suicidal behavior, belonging to the Carlos M Ramírez Corría Teaching Polyclinic of San Luis municipality during 2007 in order to determine psychosocial risk factors influencing significantly in this behavior. The study group was formed by 18 patients, and the control group by 36 patients. Factors such as feeling of hopelessness and guilt, major depression, hostility, and impulsiveness, history of suicidal attempt, lack of family and social support, as well as suicidal threat or project had a significant casual relationship to suicidal behavior, but not family suicidal history
