ABSTRACT

Low-grade mucinous tubular and spindle cell carcinoma is a rare tumor which was described in the 2004 OMS Classification as a new entity. We report the case of a 42-year-old female patient presenting with chronic lower back pain on the left side. On CT scan a left renal mass of 10 cm in diameter was seen, and the patient underwent left radical nephrectomy. Macroscopic examination of the resected organ revealed a well-defined, fleshy, partly hemorrhagic and necrotic tumor on the medial aspect of the kidney, measuring 8.2 cm in diameter. Microscopic evaluation confirmed the diagnosis of a non-infiltrating mucinous tubular carcinoma with spindle cells not invading the hilum. Histopathologic studies revealed positive staining for CK [KL1], CK7, CK20, EMA, vimentin and CD 15 and negative staining for CD 10. Our case report of this rare entity aims to draw the attention of pathologists and clinicians to the importance of its diagnosis, in view of its favorable prognosis

ABSTRACT

The pityriasis rubra pilaris is a quite rare erythematosquarnous dermatosis characterized by a follicular hyperkeratosis with perifollicular erythema Nine cases have been collected at the department of dermatology of Ibn Rochd University Hospital in Casablanca over 17 years. The classic type I of the adult has been the most frequent, the classic juvenile form has been noticed in one case. This study emphasizes the diagnostic and therapeutic difficulties of this dermatosis

ABSTRACT

Renal leiomyoma is a benign tumour arising from the smooth muscle cells of different kidney structures. We demonstrate here by this observation, the preoperative diagnostic difficulties and the necesity to consider this entity when confronted with a renal mass case, through reporting a case of a female patient aged 54 years, who consulted for a left loin pain since two years. Clinical examination was normal. Ultrasound examination showed a hyperechogenic nodular formation of 30 mm diameter. The abdomenopelvic C.T scan revealed a superior pole tissue mass of 32 / 28 mm radiological data, a total nephrectomy was done. The anatomopathological examination of surgeical sepcimen showed a subcapsular nodular tumour, confirmation of renal leiomyoma was done by a histological examination. Diagnosis of renal leiomyoma is extremely difficult due to the variability of its radiological findings, so we should put in consideration this benign tumour when dealing with, the differential diagnosis of renal tumours
