ABSTRACT

The autopsy contribute in the discovery of some congenital malformation that may be unnotied at the clinical examination of still-born and children died during the neonatal period. We report the case of kidney hypoplasia that was identified in 1,2% of the autopsied children in the laboratory and 9,7% of children with nephro-urologic malformation. The kidney hypoplasia is bilateral in 7 cases out of 10. It is associated with congenital malformations leading to a JARCHO LEVID Syndrom in 2 cases, to a CHARGE association in 1 case, and to a ROBERTS syndrom in 1 case

ABSTRACT

The authors report ten cases of kidney agenesis among ninety nophro-urological malformations identified during 3 years 1/2 in the Laboratory of pathologic-embryology. The agenesis is bilateral in seven cases, it is associated with urogenital and gastro-intestinal malformations in 68% of the cases, and with bone malformations in 62% of the cases. The authors analyse the embryo-pathogenic aspects and insist on the genetical transmission of this disease

ABSTRACT

The teratogenic effect of drugs has been known since the tragedy of thalidomide. This effect will depend on the embryofoetal development stage for it may lead to chromosomal abnormalities with death of the ovum, or to congenital malformations in the child. These accidents should urge doctors to be very careful when they prescribe drugs to a pregant woman
