ABSTRACT

The leaves of Pithecellobium dulce Benth. [Leguminosae] have been reported to possess astringent, emollient, abortifiacient and antidiabetic properties. Quercitin, kaempferol, dulcitol and afezilin have been reported from the leaves. Owing to its importance, some pharmacognostical parameters, powder microscopical characters, angle of repose, bulk density, TLC study, IR and UV-Visible finger printing were studied for leaves of Pithecellobium dulce Benth. which will enable the future investigators for identification and characterization of the plant
