Transamination and magnesium content in neutrophil leukocytes in normal subjects [two examples are glutamate oxalacetate transaminase [GOT] and glutamate pyruvate transaminase [GPT]

The study was carried out at 40 human normal subjects aged [30-45 years]. Glutamate oxalacetate transaminase [LGOT] and glutamate pyruvate transaminase [LGPT] and magnesium Mg2+ were measured in isolated neutrophil leukocytes. Moreover, there is a strong association of the activity of [LGOT] with [LGPT]. Also, strong association of [LGPT] activity and Mg2+. Results indicated the interlink of [LGOT] and [LGPT] activities with Mg2+ in leukocytes is useful new prognostic index of muscle metabolism and contraction
