ABSTRACT

A abordagem psicológica do paciente infantil representa uma das bases do atendimento emodontopediatria. Muitas técnicas são propostas para crianças que têm comportamento não-cooperativo,dentre estas as de abordagem não-farmacológica, onde se enquadram as técnicas restritivas e/ou decontenção física. A literatura tem suscitado as possíveis interferências da técnica à adaptaçãocomportamental, bem como a necessidade de consentimento para aplicação da mesma. O presente estudoteve por objetivo descrever o perfil dos especialistas em odontopediatria com atuação no município dePorto Alegre/RS, quanto à utilização da técnica “mão-sobre-a-boca" (HOM), bem como verificar fato-res associados ao exercício da técnica.


In the specializated literature, which approach the interface pediatric dentistry, psychology is been observedthat the infantile behavior management techniques are been discussed and revalued. Many techniques are indicated for children that have hysterical behavior and doesn’t cooperative, with intention to adapt them for attendance.Outstading, our study has objetiveted to avalue this technique application of psychology condicioning “Hand-Over-Mouth" by specialist in pediatric dentistry, that works around municipal district Porto Alegre/RS. Thisquestionary embrance 13 questions about identification (age, sex, year graduation conclusion, time and whatwas the university), the use of HOM technique and its implication. A total of 63 pediatric dentistries cooperatedof this study. Among these, 28 used this technique (44,4%) and 35 didn’t use it (55,6%) with the presentresearch, we could concluded that men use this technique more than women. There were association betweenthe use of technique and the time of his specialization as well as the professional age and that the majority ofthis professional look for parent permition to use this technique. However, even knowing that many professionalscan legally take the responsibility because of agression, a few number of them ask parent permition underwritten form.
