ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT A new species of Adetus LeConte, 1852 is described from Bolivia. Additions to the description of Wappesoeme Galileo et al., 2015 and differences between males and females of Wappesoeme camiri Galileo et al., 2015 are provided. New country and state records are provided in Cerambycinae and Lamiinae. The type depository is corrected for three species of Amphicnaeia Bates, 1866.

ABSTRACT

The larva of Seticeros aquilus (Thomson), collected in Quercus humboldtii (Fagaceae) in Colombia, is described and illustrated. Biological notes and a comparison with the larva of Chorenta reticulata described by Duffy (1960) and with the descriptions of the other South American Callipogonini species are presented.

ABSTRACT

Somente quatro espécies de Parandrini eram conhecidas da Costa Rica e do Panamá: três em Parandra Latreille, 1802 (das quais só duas estavam registradas para o Panamá) e uma em Birandra Santos-Silva, 2002. Este trabalho registra Parandra (Parandra) solisi (Santos-Silva, 2007) pela primeira vez para o Panamá e acrescenta duas espécies novas: Parandra (Parandra) gilloglyi sp. nov., procedente do Panamá, e Birandra (Birandra) boucheri sp. nov., proveniente da Costa Rica e Panamá. São fornecidas chaves para as espécies de Parandra (Parandra) que ocorrem na Costa Rica e Panamá e para as espécies de Birandra (Birandra) conhecidas na América Central.


Only four species of Parandrini were known in Costa Rica and Panama: three in Parandra Latreille, 1802 (of which only two are recorded to Panama), and one in Birandra Santos-Silva, 2002. This work records Parandra (Parandra) solisi (Santos-Silva, 2007) for the first time to Panama, and adds two new species: Parandra (Parandra) gilloglyi sp. nov. from Panama, and Birandra (Birandra) boucheri sp. nov. from Costa Rica and Panama. Keys to the species of Parandra (Parandra) which occur in Costa Rica and Panama, and to the species of Birandra (Birandra) known in Central America are added.

The name "Cométites" Blanchard, 1845 (= Cometinae) is considered nomen oblitum, and "Distenitae" Thomson, 1861 (=Disteniinae), nomen protectum, under the provisions of the Article 23.9 of the ICZN. Disteniinae is hereafter used as a valid family-group name.


O nome Cométites Blanchard, 1845 (=Cometinae) é considerado nomen oblitum, e "Distenitae" Thomson, 1861 (=Disteniinae), nomen protectum, conforme o Artigo 23.9 do ICZN. Disteniinae é doravante utilizado como um nome válido do grupo-família.

ABSTRACT

É apresentada uma relação das 69 espécies de Cerambycidae coletados a 45 m numa torre metálica de 50 m que ultrapassa a maioria das copas das árvores, num platô de terra firme, na bacia do Rio Cueiras, Estação Experimental de Silvicultura Tropical, km 14 do núcleo ZF-2 em Manaus, Amazonas, Brasil. As coletas foram realizadas de janeiro a dezembro de 2004, durante três noites de transição lunar minguante/nova de cada mês, das 18 às 6 horas. Os insetos foram capturados em um lençol iluminado com lâmpada de 250 watts, luz mista de vapor de mecúrio e lâmpada de 20 watts BLB. Foram coletados Prioninae (12 espécies), Disteniinae (uma espécie), Cerambycinae (27 espécies) e Lamiinae (29 espécies). Novas espécies descritas: Physopleurus rafaeli, sp. nov. (Prioninae, Macrotomini); Oncideres tuberosa sp. nov. (Lamiinae, Onciderini), Plistonax rafaeli sp. nov. (Lamiinae, Acanthoderini) e Hemiloapis mena sp. nov. (Lamiinae, Hemilophini). São apresentadas notas em Oncideres phaetusa Dillon & Dillon, 1946, chave que modifica aquela para as espécies de Physopleurus Lacordaire, 1869 e chave para as espécies de Hemiloapis Galileo & Martins, 2004.


A list of 69 species of Cerambycidae collected at 45 m height in a metallic tower of 50 m height, in a "platô de terra firme", in the Cueiras River basin, "Estação Experimental de Silvicultura Tropical, km 14 do núcleo ZF-2" in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil. The collections were carried out monthly from January to December of 2004, during three nights of lunar transition third quarter monn/new moon from 18 p.m. to 6 a.m. The insects were collected over a vertical white sheet illuminated by a 250 watts mixed light and a 20 watts black-light (BLB) lamps. Were collected Prioninae (12 species), Disteniidae (one species), Cerambycinae (27 species) and Lamiinae (29 species). New species described: Physopleurus rafaeli, sp. nov. (Prioninae, Macrotomini); Oncideres tuberosa sp. nov. (Lamiinae, Onciderini),Plistonax rafaeli sp. nov. (Lamiinae, Acanthoderini) e Hemiloapis mena sp. nov. (Lamiinae, Hemilophini). Notes for Oncideres phaetusa Dillon & Dillon, 1946, a modified key to the species of Physopleurus Lacordaire, 1869 and a key to the species of Hemiloapis Galileo & Martins, 2004 are presented.

ABSTRACT

Synopsis of the genus Strongylaspis Thomson, 1860 (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae, Prioninae, Macrotomini). The genus Strongylaspis Thomson, 1860 with its twelve known species are briefly treated herein: S. batesi Lameere, 1903, S. bullatus Bates, 1872, S. championi Bates, 1884, S. corticarius (Erichson, 1848), S. dohrni Lameere, 1903, S. fryi Lameere, 1912, S. graniger Bates, 1884, S. hirticollis Tippmann, 1953, S. kraepelini Lameere, 1903, S. macrotomoides Tippmann, 1953, S. sericans Tippmann, 1953, S. sericeus Zajciw, 1970. The genus as well as the species, Strongylaspis championi, S. bullatus and S. corticarius are redescribed; the last one including characterization of wings and male and female terminalia. Four new species are added: S. aureus sp. nov. (BRASIL, Amazonas), S. migueli sp. nov. (BRASIL, Mato Grosso), S. christianae sp. nov. (BRASIL, Mato Grosso) and S. bolivianus sp. nov. (BOLIVIA). All the species, but S. dohrni, are illustrated and keyed. Maps of distribution are also given

ABSTRACT

Notes, descriptions, synonymies and reinstatement in Hesperandra Arigony, 1977 (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae, Parandrinae). The genus Hesperandra Arigony, 1977, is divided in three subgenera: Hesperandra s. str., Zikandra subgen. nov. and Tavandra subgen. nov. Keys to the subgenera and species are added. H. glaberrima (Zikán, 1948) is revalidated and redescribed. H. humboldti sp. nov., from Colombia and Ecuador is described. New synonymies established: Hesperandra galapagoensis (Van Dyke, 1953) = H. brevicollis (Lameere, 1902); H. scrobriculata (Zikán, 1948) = Acutandra murrayi (Lameere, 1912). The genus Physopleurus Lacordaire, 1869 = Basitoxus (Parabasitoxus) Fragoso & Monné, 1995 syn. nov. is revised and redefined based on new characters. The following species are treated (in sequence that appear in the presented key): Physopleurus exiguus sp. nov. (Bolivia and Brazil), P. crassidens (Bates, 1869), P. longiscapus Lameere, 1912, P. rugosus (Gahan, 1894), P. tritomicros Lameere, 1912, P. seripierriae sp. nov. (Brazil, Mato Grosso), P. dohrnii Lacordaire, 1869, P. villardi (Lameere, 1902) = Aplagiognathus guatemalensis Casey, 1912 syn. nov., P. amazonicus (Fragoso & Monné, 1995) comb. nov., and. P. maillei (Audinet-Serville, 1832) comb. nov. The latter two species formerly in Basitoxus (Parabasitoxus) Fragoso & Monné, 1995.
