ABSTRACT

Introduction:Multiple sclerosisis one of thecommon diseasesof the centralnervous system that affects young people. This study aimed toassess the prevalence of stress, anxietyand depressionin multiple sclerosis patients was conducted in Zahedan


Methods and materials:This was a cross-sectional study. Non-random convenience sampling of patients attending the MS Society of Hospital Zahedan Ali ibn Abi Talib took place at the first quarter of 1393. Data collection included demographic information and measurement of stress, anxiety and depression by using astandardized questionnaire DASS 21. Data was analyzed using SPSS17 and descriptive statistics, chi-square testwas performedto determine the correlation between variables


Results: In this study,58.3% [n = 35] of sampleswere female.Considering levels of stress, anxiety and depression, 48.3% [29 patients], 53.3% [n = 32] and 58.3% [n = 35] had severe conditions respectively


Conclusion: Due to the in appropriate interaction of participants with high levels ofillness andstress, anxietyand depressionis importantthatpatients and their families learn ways to facethem. In this caseactivity ofallhealth care staff, particularly nurses who spend more time with patientsis more important
