ABSTRACT
Se presentan algunos elementos básicos para mejorar la redacción de un artículo científico, sobre la base de los problemas detectados en una revisión documental de los trabajos para publicar en la sección de artículos originales de 2 revistas biomédicas cubanas en el período 2003-2004. Se destaca la importancia del lector de un artículo científico. Los problemas más serios se encontraron en el acápite de métodos donde no se expresa con claridad cómo se realizó la investigación, aparece información que corresponde a la introducción y se hace uso incorrecto de las técnicas estadísticas, además, en las referencias bibliográficas se encontró inexactitud en las citas. Los elementos ofrecidos pueden contribuir a mejorar la redacción y a elevar la calidad de un artículo científico a partir de una mejor comprensión del significado y contenido de cada una de sus partes(AU)
Some basic elements are presented to improve the writing of a scientific article, on the base of the problems detected in a documental revision of the works to publish in the section of original articles of 2 Cuban biomedical magazines in the period 2003-2004. He/she stands out the importance of the reader of a scientific article. The most serious problems were in the paragraph of methods where it is not expressed with clarity how he/she was carried out the investigation, information that corresponds to the introduction appears and incorrect use of the statistical techniques is made, also, in the bibliographical references he/she was inaccuracy in the appointments. The offered elements can contribute to improve the writing and to elevate the quality of a scientific article starting from a better understanding of the meaning and content of each one on their behalves(AU)
