ABSTRACT

@#To investigate the clinical characteristics of myopathy with positive anti-signal recognition particle (SRP) antibody. Methods The clinical data, laboratory examination, diagnosis and treatment of 4 patients with anti-SRP antibody positive myopathy were retrospectively analyzed. Results Four patients had different onset modes and could have chronic onset. The main manifestations were proximal limb weakness and dysphagia, significantly increased serum creatine kinase and positive serum anti-SRP antibody. Electromyography (EMG) suggested myogenic damage, but may also be accompanied by some neurogenic damage. Myocardial enzyme and transaminase elevated in some patients. Muscle pathology showed degeneration, necrosis, and regeneration of skeletal muscle fibers. Hypertrophic and atrophic muscle fibers were involved in both types. Inflammatory cells may be present, mainly macrophages, with a small infiltration of lymphocytes. Expression of major histocompatibility complex class 1(MHC-I)was diffusely positive or weakly positive, and membrane attack complex (C5b-9) staining showed complement deposition of necrotic muscle fibers. Conclusion Anti-SRP antibody positive myopathy is an important type of immune-mediated necrotizing myopathy with a variety of clinical manifestations. The diagnosis mainly depends on the detection of anti-SRP antibody in blood and muscle pathology. If it can be identified early, the administration of early sufficient dose and long-term effective maintenance dose of drug therapy can improve the prognosis.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the overall relationship between social support and mental health among Chinese nurses and analyze potential moderators and provide a theoretical basis for improving nurses' mental health level. Methods The CNKI database, CQVIP, WAN-FANG DATA and China Outstanding Dissertations Database were searched for literature, in which the social support rating scale (SSRS, measured social support) and self-rating symptom scale (SCL-90, measured mental health) was used to investigate the correlation of social support and mental health in Chinese nurses. A total of 25 articles (including 25 independent samples, 4747 nurses) met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed by meta-analysis and meta-regression. Results The overall mean effect size calculation showed a significant negative correlation between social support and depression among Chinese nurses ( r=-0.17, 95% CI=-0. 24~-0.09, p<0.01). In the following analysis, the objective support, compared with subjective support and utilization degree, was more strongly correlated with SCL-90 (r =-0.20,-0.15,-0.13, Q =13.45, p < 0.01). In addition, the relationship could be influenced by factors such as age, publishing type, publishing age and region. Conclusions The social support is closely related to mental health in Chinese nurses, and the relationship could be influenced by the related factors. At the same time, the relationship between objective support and mental health is more closely related than subjective support and support utilization.

ABSTRACT

Objective To establish a capillary electrophoresis method to separate ephedrine and psedudoephedrine. Methods RM-β-CD and HP-β-CD were set as additives. A capillary electrophoresis method was set up. The effects of types and concentrations of additives, the concentrations and pH values of buffered solution, running voltage and organic solvent on the separation of ephedrine and psedudoephedrine were investigated. Results Ephedrine and pseudoephedrine could be successfully separated by using either RM-β-CD or HP-β-CD as additives. When RM-β-CD was used as additive, the best separation conditions were as follows: separation voltage 10 kV, 25 mmol/L Tris-H3PO4 (pH 2.42), 20 mg/mL of RM-β-CD. Under the conditions, the resolution of ephedrine and pseudoephedrine was 1.56 and they were separated successfully within 13 min. When HP-β-CD was used as additive, the best separation conditions were as follows: separation voltage 10 kV, 25 mmol/L Tris-H3PO4 (pH 3.00), 50 mg/mL of HP-β-CD. Under the conditions, the resolution of ephedrine and pseudoephedrine was 2.73 and they were separated successfully within 15 min.ConclusionThis method is reliable, rapid and repeatable. It can be used as separation determination method for ephedrine and pseudoephedrine.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo evaluate the diagnosis and surgical management of non-palpable breast cancer (NPBC). MethodsDiagnosis, preoperative localization and surgical management of 26 cases of NPBC were analyzed retrospectively.ResultsAll the 26 lesions were found by ultrasound or mammography.Local-extensive excision was performed under preoperative ultrasound-guided or radio-guided wire localization.Of the 26 lesions, 14 were ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), 9 were DCIS with micro-invasion and 3 were invasive ductal carcinoma.ConclusionsCombination of ultrasound and mammography improves the discovery rate of NPBC.Local-extensive excision under preoperative ultrasound-guided or radio-guided wire localization of NPBC shortens the duration of surgical procedure, avoids excessive resection of breast tissues and maintains the apperance of the breast.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the clinical presentation, diagnosis, and surgical management of anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor encephalitis. Methods One case of anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis in a previously healthy 17-year-old female related to the development of NMDA receptor autoantibodies triggered by an ovarian teratoma was reported. The related literature was reviewed and the clinical feature was summarized. Results Removal of the ovarian teratoma combined with intravenous immuneglobulin and corticosteroid proved curative with eventual resolution of the paraneoplastic disease process and associated psychiatric symptoms. Conclusion Increasingly, reports of anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis associated with ovarian teratomas,as well as a novel assay to measure these antibodies suggest an etiology for this disease process that may be amenable to prompt surgical excision.
