ABSTRACT
The overgrowing use of silicone oil as a long acting tamponade has improved the chances of reattaching the retina in complicated cases of retinal detachment. The lens, unfortunately, pays the price by the development of cataract in phakic eyes. The management of cataractous lens in silicone oil filled eyes is controversial. We herein review our experience with management of opaque lenses in 16 eyes filled with silicone oil. The different surgical alternative as well as intra and postoperative complications will be discussed

We present 2 cases of subinternal limiting membrane hemorrhage which occurred in normal eyes. Vision was markedly affected in both patients. The shape of the hemorrhage was peculiar and different from subhyaloid hemorrage. In both cases, the hemorrhage was gradually absorbed without treatment or surgical intervention within 4-5 months. Recovery of vision was nearly complete without residual effects
