ABSTRACT

Vitamin A is essential for the health of the mother as well as for the health and development of the fetus. Vitamin A deficiency has affected 19 million pregnant women with the highest burden found in the WHO regions of Africa and South-East Asia. Vitamin A is available in multiple vitamin formulations for prenatal care in some countries. When provided alone, the compounds most commonly used are retinyl palmitate and retinyl acetate in tablet form or oil-based solutions. Hypertension is common in pregnancy and causes high maternal mortality. This includes gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, severe preeclampsia, and pregnancy with chronic hypertension. Preeclampsia is a high-mortality disease among the common complication of hypertensive disorder of pregnancy. in particular, severe preeclampsia possess a serious threat to the safety of mothers and children, and there are great difficulties in the treatment of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy during clinical work. therefore, we are adequate in dealing with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. Any adverse pregnancy outcomes associated with hypovitaminosis D should be accessed through the perspective of immune dysregulation both at the systemic and placental levels. It signifies the supplementation of vitamin D in pregnancy have a role in the improvement of maternal hypertensive complication and improve the fetal outcome.

ABSTRACT

Music therapy is beneficial for neurological diseases, especially in slowing down the progression of clinical symptoms in patients. However, it remains unclear to what extent can music therapy may affect patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD). Questions remain on whether music therapy can improve the quality of life (QOL) of AD patients, who are usually with poor QOL owing to the burden of the disease. A search that compared the effectiveness of music therapy to improve the QOL of AD patients was carried out. PubMed, Cochrane library clinical trial database, and WAN FANG database were searched to collect data from randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Two independent researchers extracted data from the selected eligible articles by using a collection form and RevMan5.3 statistical software and applied it for the meta-analysis. We included six RCTs in our meta-analysis. The results showed that compared to the control group, music intervention can significantly increase the score of the QOL-AD scale (MD=5.10, 95%CI: 2.95-7.24, p<0.001) and The World Health Organization QOL Rating Scale Short Form score (MD=5.76, 95%CI: 1.59-9.92, p=0.007). The results suggested that music therapy could improve the QOL for elderly patients with AD. Our findings indicated that music therapy might be considered a non-pharmaceutical therapy for patients with AD in the future.

ABSTRACT

Background: Chronic HPV infection is a precursor of cervical cancer, which is largely caused by dysregulation of vaginal flora and other factors like abnormal H2O2, neuraminidase and insufficient vaginal hygiene. The relationship between HPV-induced cancer and vaginal microbiota is involved in the viral chronicity and also influences the disease prognosis. A meta-analysis system was used to evaluate the relationship between cervical lesions, HPV and vaginal microenvironment. Methods: PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane and Embase databases were searched for relevant literature published from 2016 to December 2020. According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, literature screening, data extraction and quality evaluation were carried out, and stata16 statistical software was used for Meta-analysis and systematic evaluation. Results: The overall relative risk of CST in 95% CI: 0.76-1.4, LSIL group compared with normal cytology group was 0.81. The overall relative risk of CST in the HSIL group and cervical cancer group was 0.77 and 1.26, respectively. It was found that there was publication bias in the HPV positive group (p-value of Begg and Egger were 0.067 and 0.247) and cervical cancer group (p-value of Begg and Egger were 0.677 and 0.457 respectively). There was a significant difference in CST III between HPV positive group and the LSIL group. Conclusion: Cervical lesions and HPV are related to the increase of vaginal microbial diversity, and HPV and LSIL groups are related to CST III, while HSIL and cervical cancer groups are related to CSTIV, which has a certain guiding significance for early clinical diagnosis, but further large-scale studies are needed to confirm our findings.

ABSTRACT

This narrative review has brought forward the recent important findings of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) which is regarded as a prevalent endocrinological and metabolic disorder with several clinical features. Treatment for PCOS differs according to the presenting problems, underlying cause, age and requirements of the individuals. The review has discussed the status of PCOS in India separately, its etiologies, diagnosis and updated points of management. The phenomena of Insulin Resistance and its management have been discussed by reviewing various published works and the pathophysiologic relationship between PCOS and infertility has been discussed in detail. The role of hyperinsulinemia and Insulin Sensitivity in PCOS is discussed in detail with the relevant pathophysiological mechanism. Overall, this review is clinically significant and has discussed the essential points of a multisystem disorder (PCOS).
