A research on epilepsy source localization from scalp electroencephalograph based on patient-specific head model and multi-dipole model / 生物医学工程学杂志

Accurate source localization of the epileptogenic zone (EZ) is the primary condition of surgical removal of EZ. The traditional localization results based on three-dimensional ball model or standard head model may cause errors. This study intended to localize the EZ by using the patient-specific head model and multi-dipole algorithms using spikes during sleep. Then the current density distribution on the cortex was computed and used to construct the phase transfer entropy functional connectivity network between different brain areas to obtain the localization of EZ. The experiment result showed that our improved methods could reach the accuracy of 89.27% and the number of implanted electrodes could be reduced by (19.34 ± 7.15)%. This work can not only improve the accuracy of EZ localization, but also reduce the additional injury and potential risk caused by preoperative examination and surgical operation, and provide a more intuitive and effective reference for neurosurgeons to make surgical plans.

Identification, sequence analysis, and infectivity of H9N2 avian influenza viruses isolated from geese

The subtype H9N2 avian influenza virus greatly threatens the Chinese poultry industry, even with annual vaccination. Waterfowl can be asymptomatically infected with the H9N2 virus. In this study, three H9N2 virus strains, designated A/Goose/Jiangsu/YZ527/2011 (H9N2, Gs/JS/YZ527/11), A/Goose/Jiangsu/SQ119/2012 (H9N2, Gs/JS/SQ119/12), and A/Goose/Jiangsu/JD564/2012 (H9N2, Gs/JS/JD564/12), were isolated from domestic geese. Molecular characterization of the three isolates showed that the Gs/JS/YZ527/11 virus is a double-reassortant virus, combining genes of A/Quail/Hong Kong/G1/97 (H9N2, G1/97)-like and A/Chicken/Shanghai/F/98 (H9N2, F/98)-like; the Gs/JS/SQ119/12 virus is a triple-reassortant virus combining genes of G1/97-like, F/98-like, and A/Duck/Shantou/163/2004 (H9N2, ST/163/04)-like. The sequences of Gs/JS/JD564/12 share high homology with those of the F/98 virus, except for the neuraminidase gene, whereas the internal genes of Gs/JS/YZ527/11 and Gs/JS/SQ119/12 are closely related to those of the H7N9 viruses. An infectivity analysis of the three isolates showed that Gs/JS/SQ119/12 and Gs/JS/YZ527/11 replicated well, with seroconversion, in geese and chickens, the Gs/JS/JD564/12 did not infect well in geese or chickens, and the F/98 virus only infected chickens, with seroconversion. Emergence of these new reassortant H9N2 avian influenza viruses indicates that these viruses can infect both chicken and goose and can produce different types of lesions in each species.

Establishment of High-throughput Model for Anaphylactic Reaction in Vitro and Evaluation of Potential Anaphylactogen Isoliensinine / 中国中医药信息杂志

Objective To establish a high-throughput evaluation model for anaphylactic reactions; To screen and identify potential anaphylactogens from TCM monomeric compounds.MethodsCell model of stably expressed MrgX2 was established. Recombinate plasmid pmCherry-C1-MrgX2 was transfected to HEK293 to establish cell line for screening model. MrgX2 agonist and antagonist were used to identify the validation and stability of the cell line. A small library consisting of 180 compounds was profiled by using a cell-based calcium mobilization assay to find novel compounds targeting the MrgX2 receptor. EC50 test, IC50 test, specificity validation and cytotoxicity evaluation were carried out to detect the function of the positive agonist.ResultsThe EC50 of C48/80 to MrgX2 model was 2.7 μg/mL and the IC50 of 2-APB (evoked by 10 μg/mL C48/80) was 46.29 μmol/L. The first generation cell model of MrgX2 was similar to the 20th generation, and the Z factor of MrgX2 cell model was 0.78. In the primary screening for agonist, isoliensinine was identified as a novel agonist targeting receptor MrgX2 with an EC50 of 4.5 μmol/L and IC50 of39.47 μmol/L. Moreover, isoliensinine was validated to activate MrgX2 receptor specifically without cytotoxicity. Conclusion A high-throughput evaluation method for anaphylactic reactions can be established in vitro through calcium mobilization assay. A potential anaphylactogen isoliensinine is identified and validated.

Inhibitory Effect of Oleanolic Acid on Lipid Accumulation in Cytoplasm of 3T3-L1 Adipocyte / 世界科学技术-中医药现代化

A collection of 57 natural compounds derived from Chinese herbal medicines were evaluated for their an-ti-adipogenic effects. The lipid droplets in differentiated 3T3-L1 adipocytes treated with tested substrate were de-tected by an image-based assay. The results demonstrated that oleanolic acid (OA) inhibited lipid droplets accumula-tion in 3T3-L1 adipocytes in a dose-dependent manner with the IC50 value of 14.5 μmol·L-1. In addition, ToxInsight assay showed that OA was free of liver injury for HepG2 cells within 60 μmol·L-1. It was concluded that OA, which had an obvious anti-adipogenic effect, can be a candidate for hyperlipidemia therapy.

Pleuropulmonary blastoma: a clinicopathological analysis / 中国肺癌杂志

<p><b>BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE</b>Pleuropulmonary blastoma (PPB) is a rare malignant tumor with unique clinicopathological features. The aim of this study is to investigate the clinicopathological features, the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of pleuropulmonary blastoma.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Five cases of PPB were analyzed by light microscopy, immunohistochemistry and their clinical data, and the relative literatures were reviewed.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Five cases of patients suffered from PPB were aged from 21 to 47 months (mean 32.8 months). Most of the masses were located in the thoracic cavities and 4 cases accompanied with pleural effusions. Histologically, these tumors included 1 case of type I PPB which showed pure cystic architecture; 2 cases were type II PPB which showed cystic and solid masses accompanied with rhabdomyoblastic differentiation and nodules of cartilage; the other 2 cases were type III PPB and characterized by absolute solid masses with anaplastic undifferentiated sarcomatous components. Immunohistochemical studies showed that tumor cells were positive for Vimentin and some for Desmin and Myogenin, the nodules of cartilage were positive for S-100. The tumor cells were negative for PCK, EMA and CD99.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Pleuropulmonary blastoma is a rare and highly aggressive malignancy arising in the lung and pleural of infancy and early childhood. The type I, II and III PPB have unique clinicopathological features respectively. This kind of tumor should be distinguished from some benign and malignant diseases such as congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation (CCAM) and embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma.</p>

Effective observation of treating uterine myoma with compound acetic acid gossypol tablets and Guizhifulin cap- sules / 中国基层医药

Objective To discuss effect of treating uterine myoma with compound acetic acid gossypol tablets and Guizhifulin capsules.Methods 67 patients with clinical symptom of uterine myoma were randomly divided into two groups.Treated group:36 patients,took 3 capsules of Guizhifulin each time,three times a day,meanwhile each one took 20mg compound acetic acid gossypol tablets each time,once a day,three months as a course of treatment. Control group:31 patients,only took 3 capsules of Guizhifulin each time,three times a day,three months as a course of treatment.The size of uteruses and tumors of the patients using B-ultrasound waves,liver function,blood K~+were ohservered before and after treatmeat.Results Treated gounp:all patients had amenorrhea,the size of uteruses and tumors dwindled,lib returned to nomal obviously than before(P0.05).Conclusion Using compound acetic acid gossypol tablets and Guizhifulin capsules was effective in treating uterine myoma,which had no side effect,it was an available conservative treatment of uterine myoma.

Regulating contrast of image of eye fundus / 中国组织工程研究

BACKGROUND: Treating vascular image of eye fundus is a prerequisite for quantitative analysis; however, practical operation is so restricted by equipment, noise and current that results of image are not ideal; therefore, it is necessary for image to improve its contrast.OBJECTIVE: To search an ideal way to regulate contrast of image.DESIGN: Compared analysis.SETTING: Department of Instrument, Daping Hospital affiliated to the Third Military Medical University of Chinese PLA; Fuyang Cancer Hospital.METHODS: To introduce two ways for regulatiug contrast of image, including exponential curve method and red-deepening dichroism technique;meanwhile, controllable parameters are also analyzed.RESULTS: After process of exponential curve, contrast near by gray value at the center of image changed greatly, and gray value near by 0 point did uot reach 0 value, this suggested that image was not of deformation. However, during dichroism operation, light cyanine was observed at light color region at the phase of red-deepening because of decreasing red quantity.Parameters of horizontal movement presumed as 0 were used to analyze results mentioned above.CONCLUSION: It is better effect of exponential curve method on improving contrast of image of eye fundus.
