Adrenal cortex and medulla hyperplasia (report of 3 cases) / 中华泌尿外科杂志

Objective To study the diagnosis and treament of adrenal cortex and medulla hyperplasia. Methods The clinical data of 3 cases of adrenal cortex and medulla hyperplasia were analysed.All the 3 patients had hypertention and elevation of VMA and 1 had hypokalemia.Abnormal CT manifestations have been observed in all. Results Left adrenectomy or subtotal adrenectomy is done for the patients.1 patient recurred 6 months later and was cured by total adrenectomy on the right side. Conclusions Adrenal cortex hyperplasia could be secondary to medullary hyperplasia.When medulla hyperplasia is properly managed,cortex hyperplasia may automatically subside.
