ABSTRACT

Objective: To understand the incidence of delayed vaccination with the national immunization program vaccines among children aged 0-6 years in Xuhui District, Shanghai, and to evaluate the safety of delayed vaccination. Methods: A stratified random sampling was used to obtain six vaccination clinics in Xuhui District, Shanghai. The vaccination records of children 0-6 years from these six vaccination clinics were collected from the Shanghai Immunization Program Information Management System. Adverse events following immunization (AEFI) data were collected from the China Information System for Disease Control and Prevention. Descriptive epidemiology was used to analyze the data. Children were divided into the timely vaccination group and delayed vaccination group according whether they were delayed in vaccination (received one month or more after the recommended age among children aged ≤1 year; received three months or more after the recommended age among children aged >1 year). The safety of four vaccination methods-individual vaccination, simultaneous vaccination, routine vaccination and combined vaccination-were further compared. Differences between groups were compared using chi-square test. Results: From 2019 to 2021, six vaccination clinics in Xuhui District administered 124 031 doses of the national immunization program vaccines among children aged 0-6 years, and delayed vaccinations accounted for 25.99% (32 234/124 031) of these doses. In 2020, the delayed vaccination rate during the first-level COVID-19 public health emergency response period in Shanghai was significantly higher than that in the same period in 2019 (34.70% vs. 24.19%, χ2=136.23, P<0.05). The delayed vaccination rate during the COVID-19 vaccination campaign in 2021 was significantly higher than that in the same period in 2019 (25.27% vs. 22.55%, χ2=82.80, P<0.05). From 2019 to 2021, a total of 475 cases of AEFI were reported in six vaccination clinics, with a reported incidence of 382.97 per 100 000 doses, including 421 cases of common adverse reaction (88.63%, 339.43 per 100 000 doses), 51 cases of rare adverse reaction (10.74%, 41.12 per 100 000 doses) and 3 cases of coincidences (0.63%, 2.42 per 100 000 doses). The reported incidence of AEFI among delayed vaccinations was significantly lower than that among timely vaccinations (291.62 per 100 000 doses vs. 415.05 per 100 000 doses). The incidence of AEFI for the four delayed vaccination methods (individual vaccination, simultaneous vaccination, routine vaccination and combined vaccination) was lower than that for timely vaccination. There were significant differences between the groups except for the routine vaccination group (χ2=9.82, P<0.05; χ2=5.46, P<0.05; χ2=2.97, P>0.05; χ2=11.89, P<0.05). Conclusions: In Xuhui District of Shanghai, 25.99% of doses of the national immunization program vaccines administered to children 0-6 years were delayed. Delayed vaccination does not increase the risk of AEFI compared with timely vaccination.

ABSTRACT

【Objective】 To investigate the early clinical efficacy of full endoscopic lumbar interbody fusion in the treatment of lumbar degenerative diseases with lumbar instability. 【Methods】 We made a retrospective analysis of 22 cases of lumbar degenerative diseases with lumbar instability treated by full endoscopic lumbar interbody fusion in Department of Orthopedics, Tangdu Hospital of Air Force Military Medical University from January 2019 to June 2020. The operation time, intraoperative bleeding volume, and hospital stay were recorded. The Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) for lower back pain and leg pain and Oswestry disability index (ODI) were compared before operation, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and at the last follow-up after operation. Modified MacNab was used to evaluate the clinical efficacy at the last follow-up. 【Results】 Operations on the 22 patients were all completed successfully. The average operation time was (206.59±5.69) min (with the range of 180-240 min); the average volume of intraoperative bleeding was (92.73±22.29) mL (with the range of 50-120 mL); the average hospitalization time was (8.82±1.53) d (with the range of 7-13 d). All the patients were followed up for an average of (10.95±3.34) months (with the range of 6-18 months). The VAS score and ODI at each time point after surgery were significantly decreased compared with those before operation (P<0.05). The modified MacNab used to evaluate the clinical efficacy at the last follow-up showed that the total excellent and good rate was 90.91%, including 17 cases of excellence, 3 cases of good, and 2 cases of fair. 【Conclusion】 The early clinical effect of full endoscopic lumbar interbody fusion in the treatment of lumbar degenerative diseases with lumbar instability is satisfactory.

ABSTRACT

To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Huachansu in the treatment of cancer-related pain, four Chinese databases( CNKI,VIP,Wan Fang,Sino Med) and three English databases( Cochrane Library,Medline,PubMed) were systematically and comprehensively retrieved since the establishment of each database to October 2018. Randomized controlled trials( RCTs) for the treatment of cancer-related pain with Huachansu were screened out according to pre-established inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria. Rev Man5. 3 software was used for Meta-analysis. A total of 241 articles were retrieved, and finally 10 studies were included. The total sample size was 1 293,including 648 in the experimental group and 645 in the control group. The overall quality of the included studies was generally low. The results of Meta-analysis showed that Huachansu combined with Western medicine acesodynes was superior to the single use of Western medicine acesodynes in the treatment of short-term pain relief, improvement of quality of life and reduction of constipation, nausea and vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, anorexia and other adverse reactions. And it also has the advantage of a shorter onset time and longer duration time of analgesia, but cannot reduce the incidence of dysuria. Based on the findings,Huachansu had a certain effect in the treatment of cancer-related pain, and a significant positive effect on the improvement of quality of life and the reduction of adverse reactions. No serious adverse reactions occurred. However, due to the small number of studies included, the low quality of the included studies, published biases and other restrictions, the evidence in this study has a low quality, and the conclusion shall be adopted with caution. The effectiveness and safety of Huachansu in the treatment of cancer-related pain remained to be further confirmed in the future with a well-designed,rigorous,and standardized report, with a large sample size, multiple centers, and sufficient follow-up time for randomized controlled trials.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) encompasses a series of patho-logic changes ranging from steatosis to steatohepatitis, which may progress to cirrhosis and hepatocel-lular carcinoma. The purpose of this study was to determine whether Ganoderma lucidum polysaccha-ride peptide (GLPP) has therapeutic effect on NAFLD. METHODS ob/ob mouse model and ApoC3 transgenic mouse model were used for exploring the effect of GLPP on NAFLD. Key metabolic path-ways and enzymes were identified by metabolomics combining with KEGG and PIUmet analyses and key enzymes were detected by Western blotting. Hepatosteatosis models of HepG2 cells and primary hepatocytes were used to further confirm the therapeutic effect of GLPP on NAFLD. RESULTS GLPP administrated for a month alleviated hepatosteatosis, dyslipidemia, liver dysfunction and liver insulin resistance. Pathways of glycerophospholipid metabolism, fatty acid metabolism and primary bile acid biosynthesis were involved in the therapeutic effect of GLPP on NAFLD. Detection of key enzymes revealed that GLPP reversed low expression of CYP7A1,CYP8B1,FXR,SHP and high expression of FGFR4 in ob/ob mice and ApoC3 mice. Besides, GLPP inhibited fatty acid synthesis by reducing the expression of SREBP1c, FAS and ACC via a FXR-SHP dependent mechanism. Additionally, GLPP reduced the accumulation of lipid droplets and the content of TG in HepG2 cells and primary hepato-cytes induced by oleic acid and palmitic acid. CONCLUSION GLPP significantly improves NAFLD via regulating bile acid synthesis dependent on FXR-SHP/FGF pathway, which finally inhibits fatty acid synthesis, indicating that GLPP might be developed as a therapeutic drug for NAFLD.

ABSTRACT

Identifying a target molecule that is crucially involved in pancreatic tumor growth and metastasis is necessary in developing an effective treatment. The study aimed to investigate the role of the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3a (eIF3a) in the cell proliferation and motility in pancreatic cancer. Our data showed that the expression of eIF3a was upregulated in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma as compared with its expression in normal pancreatic tissues. Knockdown of eIF3a by a specific shRNA caused significant decreases in cell proliferation and clonogenic abilities in pancreatic cancer SW1990 and Capan-1 cells. Consistently, the pancreatic cancer cell growth rates were also impaired in xenotransplanted mice. Moreover, wound-healing assay showed that depletion of eIF3a significantly slowed down the wound recovery processes in SW1990 and Capan-1 cells. Transwell migration and invasion assays further showed that cell migration and invasion abilities were significantly inhibited by knockdown of eIF3a in SW1990 and Capan-1 cells. Statistical analysis of eIF3a expression in 140 cases of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma samples revealed that eIF3a expression was significantly associated with tumor metastasis and TNM staging. These analyses suggest that eIF3a contributes to cell proliferation and motility in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUNDThe long-term outcomes of patients with autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) given the immunosuppressive treatment are considered to be preferable. However, little is known about the response of AIH patients with cirrhosis to immunosuppressive treatment. We assessed the effects of immunosuppressive therapy in Chinese AIH patients with cirrhosis from a tertiary hospital.

METHODSPatients with a clinical diagnosis of AIH January 2000 and December 2015 were retrospectively reviewed. Two-hundred and fourteen patients who were followed up and satisfied the simplified AIH criteria were included in the study. Among these patients, 87 presented with cirrhosis when initially diagnosed for AIH. Immunosuppressive treatments were employed in 57 AIH patients who did not present with cirrhosis and 39 patients who presented with cirrhosis. Initial responses to immunosuppressive treatment of patients with and without cirrhosis were analyzed. Independent risk factors were assessed for predicting the prognosis of patients. The t-test and Cox regression statistical analysis were used.

RESULTSIn total, 96 AIH patients including 39 with cirrhosis and 57 without cirrhosis underwent immunosuppressive therapy. The overall complete remission after initial immunosuppressive treatment was achieved in 81/96 patients (84.4%), whereas 9/96 (9.4%) achieved incomplete response, and 6/96 (6.3%) occurred treatment failure. Compared to noncirrhotic patients, patients who presented with cirrhosis responded to treatment to a comparable extent regarding complete response (noncirrhosis 50/57 [87.7%] vs. cirrhosis 31/39 [79.5%], P = 0.275), incomplete remission (noncirrhosis 4/57 [7.0%] vs. cirrhosis 5/39 [12.8%], P = 0.338), and treatment failure (noncirrhosis 3/57 [5.3%] vs. cirrhosis 3/39 [7.7%], P = 0.629). Importantly, the remission rate was comparable (54/57 [94.7%] and 36/39 [92.3%], P = 0.629) for noncirrhotic and cirrhotic patients after immunosuppressive therapy. Compared to patients who maintained remission (n = 19) after drug withdrawal, patients who experienced relapse (n = 17) had significantly higher levels of serum immunoglobulin G at entry (15.0 ± 6.5 g/L vs. 22.3 ± 5.8 g/L, t = 2.814, P = 0.004). Moreover, cirrhosis at presentation significantly increased the risk of disease exacerbation (hazard ratio [HR]: 4.603; P = 0.002). The treatment of immunosuppressant (HR: 0.058; P = 0.005) and the level of aspartate aminotransferase at presentation (HR: 1.002; P = 0.017) also increased the risk of disease progression.

CONCLUSIONSThe efficacy of initial immunosuppressive treatment in AIH patients with cirrhosis is comparable to that in those without cirrhosis. Cirrhotic patients not treated by immunosuppressants have poor long-term outcomes.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND:It has been a hotspot in the treatment of spinal fracture by minimaly invasive approach.Compare with open operation, minimaly invasive surgery has less trauma, less bleeding, less tissue damage and shorter hospital stay. But no clinical study focuses on the reduction effect of minimaly invasive percutaneous screw fixation and maintenance of vertebral height.OBJECTIVE:To compare the difference of minimaly invasive percutaneous screw combined with articular process bone grafting and simple screw fixation in the treatment of thoracolumbar fracture on maintaining vertebral height.METHODS:Clinical data of 79 patients with T11-L2 thoracolumbar fractures (AO type: A1,A2,A3,B1) wereretrospectively analyzed.Among them,41 cases were treated by percutaneous pedicle screw fixation combined with articular process bone grafting, while 38 cases were treated by percutaneous pedicle screw fixation, from January 2010 to September 2013.Perioperative indicators in the two groups, visual analogue scale scores, and Oswestry Disability Index before and after surgery,as wel as at final folow-up were compared between the two groups. The anterior and posterior of vertebral height, the recovery of Cobb's angle were evaluated.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The patients in the grafting group were folowed up for 4-36 months and those in the non-grafting group were folowed up for 5-30 months, there was no significant difference in the folow-up time between the two groups (P=0.25).The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative ambulation time and hospital stay showed no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05).The folow-up results showed that,no significant difference was found in visual analogue scale scores and Oswestry Disability Index between the two groups (P>0.05).However,the anterior and posterior of vertebral height, the recovery of Cobb's angle in the grafting group were significantly better than that in the non-grafting group (P< 0.05).The short-term efficacy and security are similar between the two surgery methods in the treatment of thoracolumbar fracture. However, minimaly invasive percutaneous screw combined with articular process bone grafting shows great advantages in recovering and maintaining the long-term stability.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo investigate the protective effects of quercetin on cadmium-induced cytotoxicity in primary cultures of rat proximal tubular (rPT) cells.

METHODSPrimary cultures of rPT cells undergoing exponential growth were incubated with 1.0 μg/mL quercetin and/or cadmium (2.5, 5.0 μmol/L), in a serum-free medium at 37 °C at different time intervals. Commercial kits were used and flow cytometric analyses were performed on rPT cell cultures to assay apoptosis and oxidative stress.

RESULTSExposure of rPT cells to cadmium acetate (2.5, 5.0 µmol/L) induced a decrease in cell viability, caused an increase in apoptotic rate and apoptotic morphological changes. Simultaneously, elevation of intracellular reactive oxygen species, malondialdehyde and calcium levels, depletion of mitochondrial membrane potential and intracellular glutathione, and inhibition of Na+, K+-ATPase, Ca2+-ATPase, glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), catalase (CAT), and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activities were revealed during the cadmium exposure of rPT cells. However, simultaneous supplementation with 1 µg/mL quercetin protected rPT cells against cadmium-induced cytotoxicity through inhibiting apoptosis, attenuating lipid peroxidation, renewing mitochondrial function and elevating the intracellular antioxidants (non-enzymatic and enzymic) levels.

CONCLUSIONThe present study has suggested that quercetin, as a widely distributed dietary antioxidant, contributes potentially to prevent cadmium-induced cytotoxicity in rPT cells.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo study hypertension control, follow up and the factors associated with the rate of hypertension control.

METHODSThrough a community-based study, the routine data were collected through a community hypertension managing software for one year.

RESULTSThere were 3375 hypertension patients above 60 years old recruited in the information system. In the baseline, the rate of blood pressure control was 63.5%, and arranging intervals up to 6 months was 66.9%. Hypertension control rate for the baseline, the third month and the sixth month was 61.8%, 62.4% and 61.6%, respectively (chi2 = 0.16, P = 0.69). Among hypertensives whose blood pressure was stabilized in baseline, hypertension control rates for the third month and the sixth month was 72.9.8% and 72.1%, respectively (chi2 = 0.26, P = 0.61). Blood pressure stabilized over 6 months in comparing with others, and the proportion for regular taking medication was 96.2% and 97.7% (chi2 = 3.58, P = 0.06). The proportion for physical activity, less salt intake, weight control was significantly higher in the patients whose blood pressure control well over 6 month.

CONCLUSIONRate of blood pressure control among elderly patient with hypertension who frequently consults the doctor in the community is high. Ineffectiveness in systolic and diabetes control is the important factor, which decreases the rate of blood pressure. Physical activity, less salt intake, and weight control are of help to hypertension control. For those, the blood pressure are stabilized, a follow up with 3 to 6 months interval is appropriate.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUNDCandida albicans is the most frequently seen opportunistic human fungal pathogen. Terbinafine is an allylamine antifungal agent that has been proven to have high clinical efficacy in the therapy of fungal infections, the mechanism of action of terbinafine involves the specific inhibition of fungal squalene epoxidase, resulting in ergosterol deficiency and accumulation of intracellular squalene. We used cDNA microarray analysis technology to monitor global expression profile changes of Candida albicans genes in response to terbinafine treatment, and we anticipated a panoramic view of the responses of Candida albicans cells to the representatives of allylamine antifungal agents at the molecular level in an effort to identify drug class-specific and mechanism-independent changes in gene expression.

METHODSCandida albicans strain ATCC 90028 was exposed to either medium alone or terbinafine at a concentration equivalent to the 1/2 minimal inhibitory concentrations (MICs, 4 mg/L) for 90 minutes. RNA was isolated and gene expression profiles were compared to identify the changes in the gene expression profile using a cDNA microarray analysis. Differential expression of 10 select genes detected by cDNA microarray analysis was confirmed by semi-quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).

RESULTSA total of 222 genes were found to be responsive to terbinafine, including 121 up-regulated genes and 101 down-regulated genes. These included genes encoding membrane transport proteins belonging to the members of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) or major facilitator superfamily (MFS; CDR1, AGP2, GAP6, PHO84, HOL3, FCY23, VCX1), genes involved in stress response and detoxification (CDR1, AGP2, HOL3), and gene involved in the ergosterol biosynthesis pathway (ERG12). The results of semi-quantitative RT-PCR were consistent with that of the cDNA microarray analysis.

CONCLUSIONSThe up-regulation of the gene encoding the multidrug resistance efflux pump CDR1 may contribute to the terbinafine resistance in Candida albicans. However, the precise roles of other affected genes remain unclear, further studies of these genes and their respective products that play roles in the context of antifungal resistance are warranted.

ABSTRACT

GL-PP-3A, an active polysaccharide peptide, was isolated and purified from Ganoderma lucidum, and then its structure was analyzed. Crude polysaccharide peptides were extracted from Ganoderma lucidum with hot water, precipitated with ethanol and then dialyzed from Ganoderma lucidum. Subsequently GL-PP-3A was isolated and purified from the crude polysaccharide peptides by fractional precipitation and chromatography of Bio-Gel P-10 column. The repetitive unit of GL-PP-3A was analyzed by high performance gel permeation chromatography (HPGPC), monosaccharide composition and methylation analysis, 1H NMR and 13C NMR. GL-PP-3A is a heteropolysaccharide which is composed mainly of glucose (Glc), and also contains saccharide residues such as rhamnose (Rha), xylose (Xyl), mannose (Man) and galactose (Gal) and 17 kinds of amino acids. Its weight-average molecular weight (Mw) and number-average molecular weight (Mn) were 1.7 x 10(4) and 1.1 x 10(4), respectively, with the ratio of Mw/Mn ( molecular weight distribution) being of 1.49. Its backbone chain is composed of 1,6-linked beta-D-Glcp and 1,3-liked beta-D-Glcp at a ratio of 2:1. Some of 1,6-linked glucose residuals of the backbone chain are substituted at 2-0 or 3-0, and there are 1 to 3 1,6-linked beta-D-Galp or 1,3-linked alpha-D-Manp in the branched chains, the nonreducing ends of which consist mainly of beta-D-Glcp and a few Rha.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the relationship between the expressions of KAI1, nm23, ETS-1, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and microvascular density (MVD) and lymph node metastasis and prognosis in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC).

METHODSThe Envision immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expressions of KAI1, nm23, ETS-1 and VEGF in 50 cases of non-keratinizing carcinoma (NKC) with cervical lymph node metastasis, 30 cases of NKC without cervical lymph node metastasis at the primary diagnoses and 30 cases of non-tumor nasopharyngeal tissues (NP). The microvascular density was counted by immunostaining with CD34.

RESULTS(1) The expression rates of KAI1 and nm23 protein in NKC with cervical lymph node metastasis group and without cervical lymph node metastasis group and NP group increased successively , the difference being significant (P < 0.05); The expression rates of ETS-1 and VEGF protein in NKC with cervical lymph node metastasis group and without cervical lymph node metastasis group and NP group increased successively, the difference being significant (P < 0.05). (2) In 80 NKC cases, the MVD was respectively lower in KAI1 and nm23 protein positive groups than those in the negative groups (P < 0.05); the MVD was respectively higher in ETS-1 and VEGF protein positive groups than those in the negative groups (P < 0.05 ). (3) There was significant difference between the MVD, the number of NKC without cervical lymph node metastasis cases in the single expression of KAI1 or nm23 protein and in common expression of KAI1 and nm23 protein (P < 0.05), in the same as between the single expression of ETS-1 or VEGF protein and in common expressions of ETS-1 and VEGF protein (P < 0.05). (4) There was positive correlation between the expressions of KAI1 and nm23 protein (P < 0.01), as well as between the expressions of ETS-1 and VEGF protein (P < 0.01). (5) the 5-year survival rates of the patients correlated with cervical lymph node metastasis and the expressions of KAI1, nm23, ETS-1 and VEGF proteins in NKC (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONSThe expressions of KAI1, nm23, ETS-1 and VEGF proteins were highly related to MVD in NPC,cervical lymph node metastasis and prognosis. They might be considered to be reference indicator for evaluating the cervical lymph node metastasis and prognosis of NPC.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo investigate the correlation between genesis and the development of cervical cancer and infection of human papillomavirus (HPV) type 16/18, human herpesvirus II (HSV- II) and cytomegalovirus(CMV).

METHODSDifferent viruses were determined by polymerase chain reaction in 156 specimens of uterine including cervix 43 cervical cancer specimens,47 cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) specimens, 56 cervicitis specimens and 10 normal cervix specimens.

RESULTS(1) Positive rates on different viruses: the positive rates of HSV- II, HPV16/18 and CMV were declining in the cervical cancer specimens, CIN specimens or CIN III specimens and CIN I - II specimens, with significant differences. (2)Positive rate and grading, staging and histogenesis of cervical cancer on different viruses as well as positive rates of HPV16/18 in II staging cervical cancer specimens were significantly higher than that in I staging cervical cancer specimens while positive rates of HPV16/18 and HSV- II in high differentiation of cervical cancer specimens were significantly higher than those with medium differentiation from cervical cancer specimens. Positive rates of CMV did not seem to correlate with positive rate of HSV- II and CMV was not correlated to grading, staging or histogenesis of cervical cancer. (3)Copies of infected virus, HSV-II and HPV16/18 showing cervical cancer>CIN> cervicitis while with CMV:cervical cancer>CIN. (4) There were mixed infections of different viruses as HPV16/18 + HSV- II > HPV16/18 + CMV seen in the study.

CONCLUSIONHPV 16/18, HSV- II and CMV infection were closely related to the genesis of cervical cancer and quantity of viruses which might have played an important role in carcinogenesis of cervical lesions.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo investigate the antibiotic resistance and risky factors of nosocomial infections caused by Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, so as to help elucidate the difference of drug resistance between metallic beta-lactamase (MBL) producing and non-MBL producing strains.

METHODSStandard agar dilution method of NCCLS was employed in the isolation of 36 strains of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia from patients with nosocomial infection with respect to their in vitro antibiotic resistance to 18 kinds of antibiotics. MBL strains were identified by MBL-E test method.

RESULTSStenotrophomonas maltophilia in our hospital was mainly identified in the lower respiratory tract (88.9%), in which 88.2% (30/34) of the patients had serious original diseases, 50% of whom had received Imipenem/cilastatin sodium treatment. Thirty-six strains of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia were susceptible to new types of fluoquinolone antibiotics, i.e. Sparfloxacin, levofloxacin, gatifloxacin and doxycycline, with inhibitory rate ranging 97.2%, 94.4%, 91.7% to 83.3%, respectively. They could also be inhibited by SMZ/TMP and Ticarcillin/Lavulanic acid with inhibitory rate of 63.9% and 58.3%, respectively. There were 16 strains out of 36 of MBL bacteria with complete resistance to Imipenem/cilastatin sodium, but with higher susceptibility to aztreonam than those non-MBL producing strains.

CONCLUSIONThe nosocomial infection in our hospital caused by Stenotrophomonas maltophilia seemed to be related with severe primary disease and the use of Imipenem/cilastatin sodium. The newly developed fluoroquinolones possessed powerful antibacterial potency on Stenotrophomonas maltophilia found in nosocomial infection.
