ABSTRACT

@#Objective To explore effects of sling exercise therapy on back pain of adults with idiopathic scoliosis.Methods38 subjects were age-matched assigned to a control program (n=18) or a treatment program (n=20). Follow-up data were obtained 4 weeks after treatment. Primary outcome measures were disability (Oswestry Low Back Pain Disability Questionnaire) and pain (Numeric Pain Rating Scale).ResultsThe treatment group experienced greater improvements in disability and pain compared with the control program 4 weeks after treatment.ConclusionSling exercise therapy may benefit back pain of adults with idiopathic scoliosis.
