ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the effects of "rain classroom" wisdom teaching on geriatric students′ autonomous learning ability and self-efficacy.Methods:From June to August, 2021, 61 nursing students who practiced in the department of gerontology of the Second Xiangya Hospital, Central South University were selected as research subjects, and divided into experimental group (30 students) and control group (31 students) by random number table method. In the experimental group, wisdom teaching based on "Rain classroom" was carried out at the same time as conventional teaching, while in the control group, conventional teaching was carried out, and the teaching effect was evaluated by the independent learning ability measurement scale and academic self-efficacy scale of nursing students. Results:The score of autonomous learning ability of nursing students in the experimental group was 68.55 ± 11.06, and that in the control group was 74.29 ± 9.16. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant ( t = -2.01, P<0.05). The academic self-efficacy scores of nursing students in experimental group and control group were 52.27 ± 11.56 and 52.64 ± 9.28 respectively. There was no significant difference between the two groups ( P>0.05). Conclusions:The wisdom teaching of "rain classroom" improves the independent learning ability of geriatric nursing students, and attaches importance to the cultivation of self-efficacy of nursing students, and the improvement of self-efficacy needs further research.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To assess the therapeutic efficacy and histopathological effect of photodynamic therapy (PDT) with intralesional injection of aminolevulinic acid (ALA) in a rat model of acneiform inflammatory nodules. Methods:Forty specific pathogen-free (SPF) SD rats were randomly and equally divided into normal control group, model control group, ALA injection group and topical ALA group. Rats in the normal control group received no treatment, and those in the other 3 groups were inoculated with Propionibacterium acne suspension on the right auricle for the establishment of a rat model of acneiform inflammatory nodules. After successful modeling, rats in the model control group received no other treatment, those in the ALA injection group were intranodularly injected with 5% ALA followed by red light irradiation, and those in the topical ALA group were topically treated with 5% ALA on the acneiform inflammatory nodules followed by red light irradiation. The treatment was performed once a week for 2 weeks. Twenty-four hours after the last treatment, general appearance and histopathological changes of rat ears were observed in each group, the thickness of rat auricles was measured, and liver and kidney functions were evaluated. Statistical analysis was carried out by using one-way analysis of variance and least significant difference- t test for comparisons among the groups. Results:The thickness of rat auricles significantly differed among the normal control group, model control group, topical ALA group and ALA injection group (0.435 ± 0.006, 1.269 ± 0.071, 1.088 ± 0.098, 0.699 ± 0.095 mm, respectively, F = 235.60, P < 0.001) , and was significantly higher in the model control group than in the normal control group, topical ALA group and ALA injection group ( t = 24.18, 5.24, 16.48 respectively, all P < 0.01) , but significantly lower in the ALA injection group than in the topical ALA group ( t = 11.24, P < 0.01) . Compared with the model control group, the topical ALA group and ALA injection group showed decreased degree of local redness and swelling as well as number of nodules on the rat auricle, and decreased quantity of infiltrating inflammatory cells in the dermis and subcutaneous tissues. Compared with the topical ALA group, nodules regressed more markedly in the ALA injection group, and no clumps of inflammatory cells or microabscesses were observed in the ALA injection group. There was no significant difference in levels of alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, creatinine or urea nitrogen among the 4 groups (all P > 0.05) . Conclusion:PDT with intralesional injection of ALA is more effective for the treatment of acneiform inflammatory nodules in rat models than PDT with topical application of ALA.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To establish the method of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy(PEC) and percutaneous endoscopic jejunostomy (PEJ) for enteral nutrition. Methodes: PEG tubes were placed in 114 patients with Pull method. On the foundation of PEG, PEJ tubes were placed in 26 patients by pushing endoscopy to send tubes through Treitz ligment with usingthe the clip. Results: All PEG insertion was performed successfully. PEJ tubes were placed successfully with a new method in 26 patients. 15 patients had a little blooding and 8 patients had slight infection. 21 patients had respiratory tract infection and had been cured by using antibiotic. There was no severe complication. Conclusion: PEG is simple、safe、efficient. The new method of PEJ is feasible.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the expressions of hypoxia-inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α),vescular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and survivin in developing colorectal cancer, and the association among them. Methods The protein expressions of HIF-1α,VEGF and survivin were detected in specimens obtained from 69 patients with colorectal cancer and 20 normal controls by immunohistochemistry. The correlations of HIF-1α,VEGF and survivin with clinicopathologic features were analyzed. Results The expression of HIF-1α,VEGF and survivin proteins in patients with colorectal cancer were 56.52%,66.67% and 46.38%,respectively,and little expressed in normal controls(P<0.01).The expressions of HIF-1α,VEGF and survivin were closely related to the differential grade of adenocarcinoma,he in volvment of penetration, lymph node metastasis and Dukes stage(P<0.05).In addition,HIF-1α protein expression had positive correlations with both VEGF and survivin(P<0.05),and the expression ofVEGF also had positive correlation with survivin(P<0.05).Conclusions HIF-1α may involve in thepathogenesis of colorectal cancer through up regulating the expressions of VEGF and survivin, which mayhave synergetic effects in the pathogenesis of colorectal cancer.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the expression of neurokinin 1 receptor (NK 1R) in the biopsy specimens of colonic mucosa in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC). The relation between the expression of NK 1R and clinical severity of UC was also evaluated. Methods UC tissues were obtained from 38 patients (23 males and 15 females) undergoing colonoscopy. Normal human colon tissues were obtained from 15 irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) patients (8 males and 7 females). Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT PCR), western blot and immunohistochemistry were used to determine the expression of NK 1R. Results NK 1R mRNA expression level was enhanced in mucosae of UC compared with that of IBS. The overexpression of NK 1R was related to the severity of UC. Western blot analysis revealed that the overexpression of NK 1R protein level existed in UC. Immunohistochemistry showed moderate to strong NK 1R immunoreactivity which was localized in mononuclear cells and lymphoid follicles of lamina propria and in the crypt surface, epithelium, lymphoid follicles, submucosal arterioles and myenteric plexus neurones in the colonic mucosa of UC. Conclusions In patients with UC, the overexpression of NK 1R may be involved in the pathophysiological change in the disease and may contribute to the disruption of neuropeptide loop balance and deterioration of clinical condition.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the relationships of peroxisome proliferators activated receptor ?(PPAR?) and matrix metallo protease-7 ( MMP-7) with gastric cancer ( including low and high grade atypical hyperplasia). Methods One hundred and twenty gastric tissue specimens (four groups) were collected by gastroscopy or surgical operation, including 31 patients with chronic gastritis, 25 patients with low-grade atypical hyperplasia, 27 patients with high-grade atypical hyperplasia, and 28 patients with gastric cancer. The expression of PPAR? and MMP-7 were observed by immunohistochemical technique and analyzed by statistic methods. Results Both of them have high expression in the groups of gastric cancer respectively, and the high combined expressions of them were found in gastric cancer and high-grade atypical hyperplasia. Conclusion PPAR? and MMP-7 were the important differential signs of the gastric cancer and precancer by inference, the combined expression of PPAR? and MMP-7 was the evidences in differential diagnosis among gastric cancer, high and low grade atypical hyperplasia and gastritis.
