ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE To investigate the component characteristics and anti-infla mmatory activities of the low polarity parts from Sabia campanulata ,S. discolor and S. parviflora . METHODS Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry was used to analyze the components of low polarity parts eluted by petroleum ether from petroleum ether extract of dried stems and leaves of S. campanulata,S. discolor and S. parviflora . The chromatographic peaks were retrieved by both NIST 17 and Wiley 275 database, and their structures of each compound were compared and identified manually. The relative percentage content of each component was calculated by peak area normalization method. With indomethacin as positive control and the inhibition rate of nitric oxide (NO)production as the index ,the effects of the low polarity parts of the above three species of Sabia genus on the production of NO in lipopolysaccharide-induced human rheumatoid arthritis fibroblast-like synoviocytes (RA-FLS) and mouse mononuclear macrophage RAW 264.7 were compared ;the half inhibitory concentration (IC50)was calculated. RESULTS Totally 70,40 and 33 chemical components were identified respectively from the low polarity parts of S. campanulata ,S. discolor and S. parviflora , including long-chain fatty hydrocarbons ,long-chain alcohol/aldehyde/ester ,monoterpenes;but there were only 5 common components in the three species ,such as dodecane and docosane, etc. S. campanulata contained abundant terpenoids (40.89%); the relative percentage content of triterpenoids was high in S. discolor (30.29%);the relative percentage content of long-chain fatty hydrocarbons was high in S. parviflora (87.70%). The values of IC 50 of the low polarity parts of the above three species of Sabia genus to the production of NO in RA-FLS cells were 2.22,1.69 and 4.15 μg/mL,respectively. The values of IC 50 of them to the production of NO in RAW 264.7 cells were 1.23,4.02 and 3.05 μg/mL respectively, and all of them were lower than indomethacin (12.97,10.66 μg/mL). CONCLUSIONS The components of the low polarity parts fr om the above three species of Sabia genus are mainly long-chain fatty hydrocarbons , monoterpenes and long-chain alcohol/aldehyde/ester , and all of them have certain anti-inflammatory activities.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of hydrochlorothiazide combined with captopril and simvastatin in the treatment of elderly patients with hypertension and hyperlipidemia. Methods 50 elderly patients with hypertension and hyperlipidemia were randomly divided into two groups. The control group(25 cases) was given hydrochlorothiazide combined with captopril, the study group (25 cases) was given simvastatin on the basis of the control group. The blood pressure, changes in blood lipid levels and cerebrovascular events in 12 months were compared between the two groups. Results The blood pressure was declined in two groups, there was no significant difference (t =1.13,1.32,1.43,1.31,1.23,1.24,1.42,all P > 0.05).After treatment, blood lipid levels of the study group significantly improved compared with before treatment (t =10.56,8.34,11.35,9.34,12.78,9.35,13.54,10.95,all P < 0.05).The incidence rate of cerebrovascular events in 12 months of the study group was 12.0%,which was significantly lower than 28.0% of the control group (x2 =8.45,P < 0.05).Conclusion The elderly patients with hypertension and hyperlipidemia given antihypertensive and lipid lowering therapy can significantly reduce the incidence rate of long-term cardiovascular and cerebrovascular event, which is worth to be promoted in clinical.

ABSTRACT

The alkaloids of Daphniphyllum angustifolium were investigated. The whole plant was extracted with 95% EtOH, six alkaloids were isolated and purified with column chromatography over silica gel, RP-18 and Sephadex LH-20. Based on spectral analysis, their structures were identified as daphnilactone B (1), zwitterionic alkaloid (2), yuzurine (3), dehydrodaphnigracilline (4), deoxyyuzurimine (5) and macrodaphniphyllidine (6). All of compounds were obtained from the plant for the first time.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo study the compounds from the whole plant of Galium aparine var. tenerum.

METHODThe various column chromatographic techniques were applied to isolate the chemical constituents. MS, NMR and 2D-NMR spectroscopic techniques were uesd to identify chemical structures.

RESULTSix compounds were isolated from the EtOAc-soluble part of the 95% ethanol extract of the plant, and their chemical structures were identified as 1-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-ethanone (1), vanillic acid (2), 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid (3), p-hydroxycinnamic acid (4), gallic acid (5), 4-hydroxytruxillic acid (6).

CONCLUSIONThe NMR data of compound 6 were completely assigned by 2D-NMR techniques, including 1H-1H COSY, HMQC and HMBC spectra. This was the first time to report isolation of the compound 6 from natural product. The compounds 1-5 was isolated from the genus Galium for the first time.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo study diterpenoid alkaloids from the roots of Aconitum recemulosum, and their inhibitory effects on PAF-induced platelet aggregation.

METHODThe root of A. recemulosum was extracted with 95% EtOH. The total alkaloids extracted were isolated and purified by several kinds of column chromatography over silica gel, RP-18, and Sephadex LH-20, and identified based on spectral analysis. And the inhibitory effects of isolated compounds on PAF-induced platelet aggregation were detected.

RESULTFive alkaloids were isolated and identified as sachaconitine (1), 14-acetylsachaconitine (2), hemsleyanine C (3), circinasine A (4), and talatisamine (5). The results showed compounds 1 and 2 have moderate inhibition effect on PAF.

CONCLUSIONCompounds 1-5 were firstly isolated from this plant. Furthermore, compounds 1 and 2 possessed moderate inhibitory effects on PAF-induced platelet aggregation.
