ABSTRACT
In the purpose to understand the aspects associated to pain and its treatment, the article aims to identify, in scientific literature, the practices and conducts that relieve the pain and the suffering in hospitalized children. To make this study, it was realized wide-ranging and nonsistematic bibliographic revision in scientific sites and specialized literature. It was identified a great deal of techniques and practices employed in management of pain for its relief and confrontation. Besides, it was discussed topics about multidisciplinarity treatment, as the challengesfaced by the health squad and the family. Key words: relief of pain, hospitalized children, multidisciplinarity, health education.No intuito de compreender os aspectos associados à dor e ao seu tratamento, o trabalho objetiva identificar, na literatura científica, as práticas e condutas que aliviam a dor e o sofrimento em crianças hospitalizadas. Para tanto, realizou-se revisão bibliográfica abrangente e não-sistemática em sites científicos e literatura especializada. Identificou-se uma gama de técnicas e práticas empregadas no manejo da dor, voltadas para o seu alívio e enfrentamento. Discutiram-se ainda tópicos sobre a interdisciplinaridade no tratamento, bem como os desafios enfrentadospela equipe de saúde e familiares.Palavras-chave: alívio da dor, crianças hospitalizadas, multidisciplinaridade, educação em saúde.
