ABSTRACT
Este trabalho procurou avaliar a opinião dos estudantes da área de saúde presentes nos cursos de: Odontologia, Fisioterapia, Biomedicina, Nutrição, Terapia ocupacional, Enfermagem, Fonoaudiologia, Farmácia, Educação física e Medicina a respeito da atuação do Cirurgião-dentista na Harmonização Orofacial. É uma pesquisa de campo virtual, exploratória, com tratamento quantitativo e qualitativo. Foi realizada através da aplicação de 200 questionários virtuais, composto por questões objetivas acerca do assunto que possuía duas partes, uma que permitiu caracterizar o perfil da amostra e outra com questões para a avaliação de opinião sobre o assunto. Os dados foram analisados descritivamente através de frequências absolutas e percentuais. A pesquisa buscou averiguar se os estudantes da área de saúde sabem quais os procedimentos que o Cirurgião-dentista está apto a realizar no âmbito da Harmonização Orofacial, se os alunos da área de saúde concordam que o Cirurgião-dentista execute esses procedimentos e quais procedimentos eles concordam, verificar se os alunos reconhecem qual a área de atuação do Cirurgião-dentista e conhecer o grau de concordância sobre o reconhecimento da Harmonização Orofacial como especialidade odontológica. Com isso, foi possível observar que a maior parte dos alunos (55%) se mostrou favorável a atuação do Cirurgião-dentista na Harmonização Orofacial, com pequenas ressalvas em alguns cursos principalmente o de Medicina onde (30%) não concordou com os procedimentos, sendo observado também que muitos alunos ainda não sabiam com exatidão os limites de atuação do Cirurgião-dentista. Portanto ainda é necessário um maior diálogo sobre esta problemática na graduação, principalmente com relação a área que cada profissional pode atuar e quais procedimentos estão permitidos a serem realizados
This study sought to evaluate the opinion of students in the health area present in courses: Dentistry, Physiotherapy, Biomedicine, Nutrition, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Speech Therapy, Pharmacy, Physical Education and Medicine regarding the role of the Dental Surgeon in Orofacial Harmonization. It is a virtual, exploratory field research, with quantitative and qualitative treatment. It was carried out through the application of 200 virtual questionnaires, composed of objective questions about the subject that had two parts, one that allowed to characterize the profile of the sample and another with questions for the evaluation of opinion on the subject. The data were analyzed descriptively using absolute and percentage frequencies. The research sought to find out if students in the health area know what procedures the dental surgeon is able to perform within the scope of Orofacial Harmonization, if students in the health field agree that the Dental Surgeon performs these procedures and which procedures they agree with, verify that the students recognize the area in which the Dental Surgeon operates and know the degree of agreement on the recognition of Orofacial Harmonization as a specialty dentistry. With that, it was possible to observe that most of the students (55%) were in favor of the performance of the Dental Surgeon in Orofacial Harmonization, with small reservations in some courses, mainly in Medicine, where (30%) did not agree with the procedures, it was also observed that many students still did not know exactly the limits of performance of the dentist. So there is still a need for greater dialogue on this issue in undergraduate courses, mainly with regard to the area in which each professional can work and which procedures are allowed to be performed
