ABSTRACT
Noninvasive imaging of coronary artery disease is rapidly replacing angiography as the first line of investigation. Multislice CT is the non-invasive modality of choice for imaging coronary artery disease and provides high speed with good spatial resolution. CT coronary angiography in addition to detecting and characterising atherosclerotic coronary artery disease is also a good imaging tool for evaluating anomalies of coronary arteries. Superdominant right coronary artery with absent left circumflex artery is one such rare coronary artery anomaly which is well evaluated with multislice CT angiography. The authors report one such case of superdominant right coronary artery with absent left circumflex artery imaged with 64-slice MDCT.
ABSTRACT
Present study was undertaken to study the correlation of potassium level of vitreous humor with time since death. Vitreous was collected from 150 medicolegal autopsy cases between August 2000 to March 2001 in Bharatpur Hospital, Bharatpur, Chitwan, Nepal. There was a linear increase in vitreous potassium level with rise of postmortem interval. This indicates that rise in potassium levels after death has a strong correlation with the PMI.

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the efficacy of intralesional triamcinolone in enhancing regression in various type of hemangiomas. SETTING: Outpatients department of a teaching hospital Subjects: One hundred and five patients with rapidly growing surface hemangioma. The age ranged from 1 month to 15 months (mean 7 months). INTERVENTION: Intralesional triamcinolone administered at monthly intervals, ranging from single injection to 7 injections (mean 3.6 injections). MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE: Regression of the hemangioma. RESULTS: The overall response rate was 88.6% (excellent 51.4%, and good 37.2%). Maximum response was observed in children below 1 year of age (> 90%), lesions over the face (92.8%) and strawberry hemangiomas (99.9%). CONCLUSION: Intralesional administration of triamcinolone devoid of systemic side effects and an effective initial modality for rapidly growing hermangiomas.

Intravenous veratrine induced alterations in cardiovascular parameters in cats were used as a tool for assessing the influence of central alpha-adrenoceptors over reflex adjustments in the heart rate and blood pressure. Blockade of central alpha 2-adrenoceptors with idazoxan or yohimbine, inhibited, while their activation by clonidine, as also blockade of alpha 1-adrenoceptors, with prazosin, potentiated the veratrine induced bradycardia. The hypotensive effect was relatively unaltered by these treatments. Low doses of clonidine potentiated the veratrine-induced bradycardia. It appears that alpha 2-adrenoceptor mechanisms exert greater control over the reflex regulation of heart rate than over reflex control of blood pressure.
