ABSTRACT

El cáncer cérvico uterino como enfermedad de la mujer, sigue siendo una de las principales causas de muerte en las mexicanas, se muere una mujer azteca cada dos horas por esta enfermedad, situación que afecta el entorno en que se desarrolla, su familia, la sociedad y contribuye a pérdidas humanas, económicas y productivas. De ahí la importancia que las mexicanas apliquen la Teoría del Autocuidado de Dorothea Orem en su persona, a partir de la toma de conciencia de su cuerpo, bajo la guía, enseñanza y supervisión del profesional de enfermería, con el propósito que la mujer aprenda el Autocuidado para la detección oportuna de la enfermedad y en caso de tenerla, adaptarse a la nueva Vida que acaba de adquirir a partir del diagnóstico y el tratamiento, enfermedad que altera su cuerpo de manera orgánica e interna, dejando una cicatriz emocional, que necesita ser atendida de acuerdo a sus creencias y costumbres para iniciar este evento en su Vida.


Cervical cancer, as women's disease, remains as one of the leading causes of death in Mexicans, one Aztec woman dies every two hours by this disease; this situation affects the environment in which she develops, her family, the society and contributes to human, economic and productive losses. For this reason, it is very important that Mexican women apply Dorothea Orem's Self-care Theory in their person, starting by taking conscience of their body, under the guide, education and supervision of the nursing professional, in order that the woman learns Self-care towards the early detection of the disease, and in case of having it, to adapt to the new life acquired from the diagnosis and the treatment, disease that alters their body in an internal, organic way, leaving an emotional scar, that needs to be taken care of, according to her beliefs and customs to initiate this event in her life.
