ABSTRACT
O presente estudo teve como objetivo caracterizar de maneira sócio-demográfica as mães e professores de crianças e adolescentes encaminhados para psicoterapia por escolas em um município do RS, bem como analisar possíveis associações entre essas variáveis e suas avaliações dos problemas emocionais e de comportamento. Participaram da pesquisa 80 mães e 87 professores de crianças/adolescentes com idade média de 9,8 anos (DP=2,3). As mães responderam a um questionário de dados sócio-demográficos e ao Child Behavior Checklist (6/18 anos), e os professores, a um questionário de dados sócio-demográficos e ao Teacher Rating Form. Os resultados indicam que mães com idade superior a 41 anos avaliaram seus filhos com escores mais baixos de comportamento de violação de regras quando comparados às avaliações de mães entre 33 e 37 anos. A renda pessoal das mães não apresentou diferença significativa com nenhum dos problemas emocionais e de comportamento de seus filhos. Houve diferença nos resultados do TRF de sintomas internalizantes (p=0,031) e externalizantes (p=0,002) conforme idade e renda do professor. Estimase que o conhecimento desses resultados poderá auxiliar a psicologia a planejar intervenções específicas para essa população.(AU)
The present study aimed to characterize socio demographically mothers and teachers of children and adolescents forwarded to psychotherapy through the school in a county of RS, and analyze possible associations between these variables and their ratings of emotional and behavioral problems. Participants were 80 mothers and 87 teachers of children/adolescents who were 9.8 years-old on average with a mean age of 9.8 years (SD = 2.3). The parents mothers answered a socio-demographic data questionnaire and the Child Behavior Checklist (6/18 years-old) and teachers answered a socio demographic data questionnaire and the Teacher Rating Form. The results indicate that mothers older than 41 years of age evaluated their children with lower scores for rule breaking behavior when compared to the evaluations of 33 to 37 year-old mothers. The mother's personal income of the mothers showed no significant difference in any of their children's emotional and behavioral problems of their children. However, there ware were differences in the results of the TRF internalizing (p = .031) and externalizing symptoms (p = .002) according to the teacher's age and personal income. of the teacher. It is estimated that knowledge of these results may help psychology / psychologists to plan specific interventions for this population.(AU)
