ABSTRACT
Esta pesquisa, realizada na área de Psicologia Social, visou explorarcomo a prática de dar e receber esmolas, no contexto das relaçõesentre doadores e a população carente adolescente de Poços deCaldas MG, constitui dimensão no processo de subjetivação,que vem a ser uma forma do sujeito principalmente do sujeitoadolescente se posicionar diante de si e da realidade social. Paratratamento dos discursos elaborados pelos sujeitos nas entrevistas,utilizou-se a análise das práticas discursivas, proposta por MaryJane Spink. Dos resultados nota-se que os doadores constroemuma argumentação a partir da impressão que têm daquele quepede, elaborada na relação estabelecida entre pedinte e doador; jáos adolescentes mostram uma tendência de se servirem da esmolacomo meio mais fácil para obtenção das benesses que a geração derenda por meio de atividades comumente aceitas pela sociedadenão permite.
This research in the field of Social Psychology, carried out in thecontext of the relations between alms givers and needy childrenand adolescents in Poços de Caldas State of Minas Gerais,investigates how alms giving and receiving constitutes a subjectivityprocess, the way individuals - mainly adolescents - take a stand inface of themselves and the social reality. The methodology toanalyze the individuals speech during the interviews was basedon Mary Jane Spinks discourse analysis. Results indicate that almsgivers construct an argumentation based on the impression theyhave of the beggars, elaborated in their relationship. On the otherhand, adolescents show a tendency to consider alms an easier gainthan that obtained by means of activities generally accepted bysociety. The language elaborated at begging, with the statementsthat it generates, allows adolescents to recognize themselves asindividuals in the established interlocution.
