ABSTRACT
The antibacterial effect of various extracts of rhizome from Zingiber officinale Rosc. was tested against some bacteria viz., Bacillus subtilis, Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus, Proteus vulgaris and Escherichia coil. Compared with standard antibiotics, the petroleum ether extract showed moderate activity against the test organisms than the methanol and chloroform extracts
