ABSTRACT
RESUMO Objetivou-se investigar os fatores de risco e proteção para o consumo de drogas entre estudantes de uma escola municipal em Vitória - ES. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, exploratória, com uma população de 500 alunos, matriculados em 2011. Dos escolares, 62,5% relatam que conversar sobre drogas com os pais diminui as chances de consumir, 41,7% referem que conviver com familiares e/ou amigos usuários os torna mais vulneráveis ao uso. Ainda, 70,8% destes, relataram que a autoestima elevada previne ouso de SPAs. Portanto, para desenvolver atividades de prevenção ao uso de SPAs, primeiramente faz-se necessário conhecer as atitudes e crenças dos alunos, bem como da escola, família e comunidade.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to investigate the risk and protective factors for drug use among students of a municipal school in Vitoria - ES. This is a descriptive, exploratory, with a population of 500 students enrolled in 2011. Of students, 62.5% report that talk about drugs with their parents decreases the chances of consuming, 41.7% report living with family and / or friends users makes them more vulnerable to use. Still, 70.8% of these reported that high self esteem prevents the use of PAS. Therefore, to develop prevention activities to the use of PAS, first it is necessary to know the attitudes and beliefs of students as well as school, family and community.
