ABSTRACT

Objective@#To understand knowledge of comprehensive sexuality education and its associated factors among junior high school teachers in six provinces in China, in order to provide a scientific basis for teacher training.@*Methods@#From June to December 2021, a convenience sampling method was used to select 1 016 junior high school teachers from Beijing, Chongqing, Liaoning, Sichuan, Yunnan and Guangdong provinces. A structured questionnaire was used to investigate teachers knowledge of comprehenswe sexuality education. Binary Logistic regression was used to analyze the related influencing factors of the knowledge of comprehensive sexuality education among junior high school teachers.@*Results@#The study showed that the knowledge rate of comprehensive sexuality education among middle school teachers was 58.1%, and the knowledge rate was higher in teachers who had conducted sexuality education to students( χ 2=9.42, P <0.01). The percentage of the correct answer on the prevention and control of sexually transmitted diseases(26.0%), the impact of inequality on love relationships( 33.6 %), and the impact of mass media on sexual cognition(68.8%) was the lowest. Regardless of whether they had implemented sexuality education for students, the knowledge and awareness rate of sexual knowledge among biology teachers, school doctors/health teachers and mental health teachers was higher( OR=2.32, 4.17, P <0.05).@*Conclusion@#Knowledge of comprehensive sexuality education among middle school teachers still needs to be improved. It is advisable to strengthen the training of comprehensive sexuality education for middle school teachers and focus on teachers of subjects related to comprehensive sexuality education.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo understand the current research status, research hotspots and development trends of constraint-induced movement therapy (CIMT) in the field of rehabilitation. MethodsThe relevant articles of CIMT in rehabilitation from January, 2000 to October, 2022 in CNKI and Web of Science were retrieved. The authors, institutions, countries, keywords and burst words were extracted with CiteSpace 6.1.R3 to draw knowledge mapping. ResultsA total of 1 165 articles were included, 359 articles in Chinese and 806 in English. The trend of annual publications was generally consistent, and after a period of rapid growth, the current annual publications showed a fluctuating trend. There was more cooperation among the institutions in English articles, with geographical limitation. The institutions in Chinese articles had the problem of insufficient cooperation. The researches mainly focused on the application of CIMT in different diseases, the improvement of motor function by CIMT, the application of CIMT in combination with other therapies, and the study of the related mechanisms of CIMT. In recent years, Chinese burst keywords included modified constraint-induced movement therapy, stroke hemiparesis, clinical efficacy and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation; English burst keywords included transcranial direct current stimulation, non-invasive brain stimulation, and unilateral cerebral palsy. ConclusionResearch on CIMT in the field of rehabilitation is in a period of steady development, and CIMT combined with non-invasive brain stimulation is likely to be a hotspot in future research.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the association between the intraperitoneal pressure (IPP) and clinical symptoms in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients. Methods:It was a cross-sectional study. PD patients of Peking University First Hospital from January 1, to October 31, 2021, were enrolled according to the inclusion and exclusion criterion. The gold standard—Durand method was used to measure the IPP of PD patients for 2 L intraperitoneal volume, and clinical and laboratory data were collected. According to whether the IPP ≥ 18 cmH 2O or not, the participants were divided into elevated IPP group and normal IPP group. A self-designed semi-quantitative questionnaire was used to investigate the frequency and degree of five clinical symptoms, including abdominal distension, bloating, acid reflux, hiccup and chest tightness or suffrage, as well as the degree of symptom relief after emptying peritoneal dialysate. Pearson or Spearman correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between each variable and intraperitoneal pressure. Results:A total of 194 PD patients were enrolled, with age of (51.6±12.9) years old. Of them, there were 123 males (63.4%), 71 females (36.6%) and 60 patients (30.9%) with diabetes. The median dialysis vintage was 24.0 (10.0, 54.0) months. The IPP was (16.2±4.3) cmH 2O, and 70 (36.1%) patients had elevated IPP. Correlation analysis results showed that IPP was positively correlated with body weight ( r=0.23, P<0.001), body mass index ( r=0.41, P<0.001), body surface area ( r=0.15, P=0.030), triglyceride ( r=0.22, P=0.001), high-sensitivity C-reactive protein ( r=0.20, P<0.001), and negatively correlated with diabetes ( r=-0.14, P=0.034) and serum calcium ( r=-0.15, P=0.034). There was no significant correlation between IPP and the total frequency score of five clinical symptoms ( r=0.122, P=0.092). The frequency of stomach distension in elevated IPP group was significantly higher than that in normal IPP group ( P=0.002), and there were no significant differences in the degree and relief degree of stomach distension between the two groups (all P>0.05). There were no statistically significant differences in the extent, frequency and degree of relief of other four clinical symptoms between the two groups (all P>0.05). Conclusion:The increased IPP has little correlation with clinical symptoms, suggesting that it may be unreliable to adjust the infusion volume only by the subjective feeling of patients. It is necessary to monitor IPP as an objective variable.

ABSTRACT

We aimed to obtain the recombinant aminopeptidase encoded by Listeria monocytogenes (L. monocytogenes) gene lmo1711, and characterized the enzyme. First, the amino acid sequences of Lmo1711 from L. monocytogenes EGD-e and its homologues in other microbial species were aligned and the putative active sites were analyzed. The putative model of Lmo1711 was constructed through the SWISS-MODEL Workspace. Then, the plasmid pET30a-Lmo1711 was constructed and transformed into E. coli for expression of the recombinant Lmo1711. The his-tagged soluble protein was purified using the nickel-chelated affinity column chromatography. With the amino acid-p-nitroaniline as the substrate, Lmo1711 hydrolyzed the substrate to free p-nitroaniline monomers, whose absorbance measured at 405 nm reflected the aminopeptidase activity. The specificity of Lmo1711 to substrates was then examined by changing various substrates, and the effect of metal ions on the catalytic efficiency of this enzyme was further determined. Based on the bioinformatics data, Lmo1711 is a member of the M29 family aminopeptidases, containing a highly conserved catalytic motif (Glu-Glu-His-Tyr-His-Asp) with typical structure arrangements of the peptidase family. The recombinant Lmo1711 with a size of about 49.3 kDa exhibited aminopeptidase activity and had a selectivity to the substrates, with the highest degree of affinity for leucine-p-nitroaniline. Interestingly, the enzymatic activity of Lmo1711 can be activated by Cd²⁺, Zn²⁺, and is strongly stimulated by Co²⁺. We here, for the first time demonstrate that L. monocytogenes lmo1711 encodes a cobalt-activated aminopeptidase of M29 family.

ABSTRACT

Transcription factor is a key trans-acting factor to mediate stress response by regulating gene expression. Plants have developed a series of mechanisms to modulate development, stress response, signaling and disease resistance at transcription level. DNA binding with one finger (DOF), containing one C₂-C₂ zinc finger domain, is a special plant transcription factor. Specifically, the conserved domain at N-terminus of DOF has multiple functions, including interacting with DNA and protein, which could be involved in plant development and stress response. Although many DOF family genes are characterized in plant stress response, it is not clear if DOF genes have functions in cereal plants. In the present paper, the role of DOF family genes on cereal plants were discussed based on a comprehensive phylogenetic relationship analysis, expression profiles in different tissues and various environmental conditions. The results obtained here will provide an important reference for further understanding the mechanism of gramineous crops in stress resistance.
