ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo investigate the short-term knee function recovery of patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA) after discharge and analyze its related factors. MethodsFrom December, 2022 to April, 2023, 140 adult patients who underwent TKA in Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital and being about to be discharged were selected as the survey subjects using convenient sampling. Potential influencing factors were selected based on a literature review. They were investigated with general information questionnaire, Rehabilitation Exercise Compliance Scale, Self-Efficacy Scale for Rehabilitation Exercise (SER), Visual Analog Scale for pain (VAS), and joint range of motion measurements before discharge, and were investigated with the Hospital for Special Surgery Knee Score (HSS) one month after discharge. ResultsA total of 130 patients finished follow-up. One month after discharge, the HSS score ranged from 40 to 82, with an average of (70.89±6.26). Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that Body Mass Index (B = -0.423, 95%CI -0.622 to -0.224, P < 0.001), pre-discharge VAS (B = -1.016, 95%CI -1.198 to -0.113, P = 0.028), rehabilitation exercise compliance (B = 0.267, 95%CI 0.121 to 0.413, P < 0.001), SER (B = 0.478, 95%CI 0.315 to 0.642, P < 0.001), and knee joint flexion contracture angle (B = -0.251, 95%CI -0.414 to -0.088, P = 0.003) could influence HSS score one month after discharge (R2 = 0.615, F =17.106, P < 0.001). ConclusionPatients after TKA have recovered well in short time after discharge, however, there is still significant room for improvement. Clinical healthcare providers should design and implement appropriate interventions based on related factors to improve the function.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To analyze the needs and recommendation of nurses in level3 general hospital for the application scenarios of nursing robots, so as to provide a basis for the design of intelligent machine systems to reduce the workload of nurses in the hospitals. Methods:Using phenomenological research methods, a total of 17 clinical nurses from Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital Affiliated to Medical School of Nanjing University, Zhongda Hospital Southeast University and the First People′s Hospital of Lianyungang from November 2021 to March 2022 were selected for semi-structured interviews. Colaizzi content analysis method was used to sort out the data. Results:Clinical nurses′requirements for application scenarios of nursing robots could be summarized into four themes: feasibility of clinical application of robot recognized by nurses; expected alternative care scenarios; summary of nursing robot design features; multiple factors limit the application of nursing robots. Conclusions:Clinical nurses have diverse requirements for the application scenarios of nursing robots, and only part of non-clinical tasks will be authorized to robots in a short period of time. In the face of future opportunities and challenges, with the help of policies, legal supervision should be strengthened, so as to improve the reliability and safety of clinical application of nursing robots.

ABSTRACT

Clinical decision support system (CDSS) has been developed and integrated into clinical nursing system by building up rules and knowledge base through literature retrieval, expert argumentation, and situation analysis. With such algorithms as reasoning algorithm, case study, artificial intelligence and big data analysis, three modules have been constructed as follows. The first is an Intelligent Knowledge-based Decision Module composed of 15 document-driven knowledge-based decision-makers and 5 task-driven knowledge-based decision-makers. The second is an Intelligent Quality Control Recording Module which has achieved intelligent quality control of nursing records through Feedforward Control and Feedback Control. The third is an Intelligent Human-Computer Interaction Module which consists of real-time static interactions through e-board and dynamic reminders/alarms triggered by the system. CDSS, since in use, has reduced the incidence of adverse nursing events and problems of quality control in nursing records, and improved satisfaction of patients.

ABSTRACT

Objective To understand the influence of nursing home service experience on humanistic caring ability of nurses. Methods Using the phenomenological method,15 clinical nurses after participation of nursing home service were interviewed, and the data were analyzed using 7 step Colaizzi method. Results 3 themes were extracted:service experience, the understanding of humanistic nursing care, influence of service experience on humanistic caring ability of nursing. Conclusions The participation of nurses in the nursing home services can promote the humanistic caring ability of nursing, which is a positive way of cultivating the ability of humanistic care ability.
