ABSTRACT
Background: Determination of correct gestational age isfundamental to obstetric care and is important in variety ofsituations. Obstetric management is also dependent ongestational age. Proper decisions regarding presumed pretermlabor or postdated pregnancies are only possible whengestational age is accurately estimated. Ultrasound is a reliablemethod for establishing the gestational age. In first trimestercrown rump length correlates with gestational age and is usedto estimate EDD. Our study was conducted to assess thecorrelation between crown rump length of fetus and gestationalage in first trimester.Materials and Methods: The present study was performedamongst the subjects of Department of Obstetrics andGynaecology for a period of one year. A trained examiner wasmade to perform the ultrasound with the same equipmentamongst all the subjects to avoid any error. All the data thusobtained was arranged in a tabulated form and analyzed.Results: The result of the present study showed directcorrelation of gestational age and crown rump length in firsttrimester of pregnancy.Conclusion: From our present study we concluded thatmeasurement of crown rump length directly correlates with thegestational age in first trimester of pregnancy. So CRLmeasurement can be used as gold standard to calculategestational age, fetal growth and EDD.

Ficus religiosa (Bo tree) is the most popular member of the genus Ficus, commonly named as Peepal. Various parts of the plant, like bark, fruit, leaves and seeds are widely used in indigenous system of medicine. F. religiosa showed a wide spectrum of pharmacological activities like, anticonvulsant, anthelmintic, anti-amnesic, anti-anxiety, anti-asthmatic, antibacterial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antiulcer. The present review is an attempt to provide a detailed survey of the literature on traditional uses and pharmacological properties of the plant.
