Trastornos en la salud visual causados por el síndrome del computador en el siglo xxi / Disorders of the eyesight health caused by the computer vision syndrome in the XXI century

En el siglo xxi, la mayoría de los ciudadanos del mundo utiliza herramientas tecnológicas con pantalla electrónica sin considerar el trastorno a la salud producido por su uso indiscriminado, al que se le denomina síndrome de visión por computador. Con el objetivo de concientizar a la sociedad acerca del daño a la salud visual que causa la exposición excesiva a las pantallas de los dispositivos electrónicos se realizó una revisión bibliográfica en las bases de datos electrónicas de Literatura Latinoamericana y del Caribe en Ciencias de la Salud y Literatura Internacional en Ciencias de la Salud, en los portales ScienceDirect y U.S. National Library of Medicine. De los 50 artículos encontrados, fueron seleccionados 29 por su utilidad y se consultaron 108 personas. Se concluyó que el síndrome del computador afecta a millones de personas dedicadas a trabajar frente a las pantallas de los aparatos electrónicos y se recomienda una debida preparación para atender y prever sus efectos perjudiciales en la población(AU)

In the XXI century, most of the world's citizens use technological tools with electronic screens without taking into account the health disorders those produce due to their indiscriminate use, which are denominated as computer vision syndrome. With the objective of creating awareness in the society in relation with the damage to the visual health caused by the excessive exposure to the screens of electronic devices, I was carried out a bibliographic review in the databases of Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences, and International Literature on Health Sciences; and in the websites of Science Direct and U.S. National Library of Medicine. Of the 50 articles found, 29 were selected for their usefulness and a survey of 108 people was conducted. It was concluded that the syndrome of computer affects to millions of people who work in front of the screens of electronic devices, and it is recommended a proper preparation to address and prevent the harmful effects they have in the population(AU)

El papel del docente universitario en la formación de estudiantes investigadores desde la etapa inicial / The role of the university professor in the training of researcher students from the early stage

Introducción: La comprensión y el descubrimiento para alcanzar el conocimiento científico forman parte primordial de un investigador. El papel del docente universitario en la formación y motivación de estudiantes investigadores resulta determinante −especialmente en su etapa de ingreso a las instituciones de educación superior− en este nuevo siglo, en el que se discute la mejor manera de lograr que estos se conviertan en protagonistas de los cambios que se están produciendo en el mundo. Objetivo: Reflexionar acerca del papel del docente universitario en la formación de investigadores para mejorar el desarrollo académico desde las primeras etapas. Métodos: Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica de las bases de datos Medline, Scielo, Redalyc y Google Académico. Se revisó el material de 70 fuentes y, finalmente, se seleccionaron 29 artículos. Conclusiones: Los docentes constituyen el primer vínculo de relación docente-estudiante en el proceso enseñanza aprendizaje en las instituciones de educación superior. La investigación debe ser el eje básico primordial en las mallas curriculares de todas las carreras universitarias para formar profesionales competentes, ya que la investigación y el conocimiento científico contribuyen al progreso de las naciones(AU)

Introduction: Understanding and discovery to achieve scientific knowledge are a fundamental part of a researcher. The role of the university professor in the training and motivation of research students is decisive, especially in their stage of admission into higher education institutions, in this new century, in which discusses the best way is discussed to make them become protagonists of the changes that are taking place worldwide. Objective: To reflect on the role of the university professor in the training of researchers to improve academic development from the early stages. Methods: A bibliographic review was carried out in the databases Medline, Scielo, Redalyc and Google Scholar. The material from 70 sources was reviewed and 29 articles were finally selected. Conclusions: Professors are the first link of the student-teacher relationship in the teaching-learning process in higher education institutions. Research must be the primary basic axis in the curricular design of all university majors to train competent professionals, since research and scientific knowledge contribute to the progress of nations(AU)

Investigación y creatividad para el desarrollo de competencias científicas en estudiantes universitarios de la salud / Research and creativity for the development of scientific competences in university students of health

El conocimiento se origina a partir del descubrimiento y este, a su vez, de la investigación. Cada día la humanidad enfrenta situaciones de riesgo para su salud, por lo que la investigación constituye una herramienta indispensable para avanzar en el campo de la ciencia, junto con la creatividad y la innovación como pilares fundamentales para desarrollar competencias científicas en las instituciones de educación superior. De ahí que el objetivo del presente artículo fue revisar las estrategias educativas que incrementan el interés de los estudiantes por la ciencia. En este sentido, se realizó la revisión de 61 artículos, a través de las palabras clave: creatividad, investigación, salud, competencias científicas; y de la literatura obtenida en Hynari, Medline, SciELO, Redalyc y Google Académico, se escogieron 26 artículos relacionados con el tema. El análisis de la información permitió afirmar que la promoción de la investigación científica y el desarrollo de la creatividad en estudiantes que ingresan al área de la salud, sin dudas, servirán para potenciar el desarrollo de los futuros investigadores(AU)

Knowledge originates from discovery and this, in turn, from research. Every day, the humankind faces situations of risk to its health, a reason why research is an essential tool to advance in the field of science, along with creativity and innovation as fundamental pillars to develop scientific competences in higher education institutions. Therefore, the objective of this article was to review the educational strategies that increase students' interest in science. In this respect, we reviewed 61 articles, for which we used the keywords creatividad [creativity], investigación [research], salud [health], and competencias científicas [scientific competences]. From the literature obtained in Hinari, Medline, SciELO, Redalyc and Google Scholar, we chose 26 articles related to the topic. Information analysis permitted to affirm that promotion of scientific research and development of creativity in students entering the health area will undoubtedly serve to encourage the development of future researchers(AU)
