ABSTRACT
Se realizó un estudio descriptivo retrospectivo para determinar el comportamiento del hábito de fumar y el alcoholismo en el consultorio médico No. 13, Área IV, Pueblo Griffo, municipio de Cienfuegos. El universo de la investigación estuvo constituido por 44 pacientes que durante el año 1999 consumieron alcohol y tabaco, lo que representó el 100 (por ciento). Se desarrolló la investigación durante el trimestre enero-marzo del 2000. Para la toma de la información fueron revisadas las fichas familiares y con el apoyo de un formulario se indagaron las siguientes variables: edad, sexo, nivel escolar, ocupación, hábito tóxico, entre otros. Predominó el sexo masculino y edades entre los 40-49 años, el nivel secundario y la ocupación obrera. Existió mayor número de fumadores que consumidores de alcohol. Fue la hipertensión arterial el único padecimiento asociado al tabaco, así como la úlcera duodenal y la epilepsia, entre otras, asociadas al alcohol(AU)
He/she was carried out a retrospective descriptive study to determine the behavior of the habit of smoking and the alcoholism in the medical clinic Not. 13, area IV, I Populate Griffo, municipality of Cienfuegos. The universe of the investigation was constituted by 44 patients that during the year 1999 consumed alcohol and tobacco, what represented the 100 (percent). the investigation was developed during the trimester January-March of the 2000. For the taking of the information the family records were revised and with the support of a form one investigated the following variables: age, sex, school level, occupation, toxic habit, among others. It prevailed the masculine sex and ages among the 40-49 years, the secondary level and the labor occupation. It existed bigger number of smokers that consumers of alcohol. It was the arterial hypertension the only suffering associated to the tobacco, as well as the ulcer duodenal and the epilepsy, among other, associated to the alcohol(AU)
