ABSTRACT

Se realiza una investigación retrospectiva de las historias clínicas de 31 pacientes con tumor mixto de la glándula parótida consecutivamente tratados con una parotidectomía subtotal en nuestro Departamento, desde 1979 hasta 1983, ambos inclusives. De los 31 pacientes 12 eran masculinos (38,7 porciento) y 19 femeninos (61,3 porciento). La parótida derecha fue la más afectada; la incisión quirúrgica de Blair se empleó en 19 pacientes. La paresia del nervio facial se presentó en el 32,2 porciento de la serie. La apreciación de la supervivencia y el control local a los 10 y 15 años fueron de 90,3 y 0 porciento y 80,6 porciento y 0, respectivamente(AU)


A retrospective investigation of the medical histories of 31 patients with mixed tumor of the parotid gland that were consecutively treated with subtotal parotidectomy in our Department from 1979 to 1983, including both, was made. Of the 31 patients 12 were males (38.7 percent) and 19 females (61.3 percent). The right parotid was the most affected. Blairs surgical incision was used in 19 patients. 32.2 percent of the series had paresis of the facial nerve.The estimation of survival and the local control at 10 and 15 years old were 90.3 and 0 percent, and 80.6 and 0 percent, respectively(AU)
