ABSTRACT
El presente estudio es una aproximación al fenómeno del dolor neuropático en personas con lesión medular, cuyos objetivos son analizar las experiencias de afrontamiento, para identificar el perfil de la persona, sus vivencias y alternativas en el manejo del dolor. Dicho estudio se realizó a través de investigación cualitativa de carácter fenomenológico. Los datos se adquirieron a través del diseño de una guía de entrevista semiestructurada, con preguntas clave, se aplicó a seis personas que padecían de dolor neuropático asociado a una lesión medular. Del análisis de datos surgieron tres categorías: las vivencias en Lesión Medular (LM) y Dolor Neuropático (DN), emociones que emergen en la crisis de dolor y aprendizaje y estrategias de afrontamiento. Las vivencias en LM y DN permitió identificar cómo le cambia la vida al individuo, el antes y el después de la LM y del DN, cómo el dolor limita las actividades de la vida diaria (AVD) y la alteración de la dinámica familiar. Mientras que se identificaron las emociones que surgen antes, durante y después de la crisis, esto se percibe como negativo, mientras que de manera positiva emerge el aprendizaje con las diversas búsquedas de tratamientos alternativos y aprender a vivir con el dolor. Por lo que se considera que el DN añade discapacidad a la ya experimentada por la LM, siendo un factor propicio de alteración del estado emocional que conduce a la persona que lo padece a realizar diversas estrategias para poder convivir con el dolor de manera permanente.
The present study is an approach to the phenomenon of neuropathic pain in persons with spinal cord injury, which aims to analyze the experiences of coping, to identify the profile of the person, their experiences and alternative pain management. The study was conducted through qualitative phenomenological research. The data were acquired through the design of a semi-structured interview guide with key questions to six people suffering from neuropathic pain associated with spinal cord injury was applied. Data analysis three categories emerged: the experiences in Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) and Neuropathic Pain (NP), emotions that emerge in the crisis of pain and learning and coping strategies. The experiences in SCI and NP allowed to identify how life-changing the individual before and after the SCI and NP, how pain limits activities of daily living (ADL) and the disruption of family dynamics. While emotions that arise before, during and after the crisis is identified , this is perceived as negative, while positively learning emerges with the searches for alternative treatments and learn to live with the pain. It is considered that the NP disability adds to the already experienced by the SCI being an enabling factor of altered emotional state that leads to the person suffering from it to perform various strategies to live with the pain permanently.
