ABSTRACT

The study was conducted to identify indigenous methods used in menstrual hygiene among preparatory school girls in Alexandria. The study was carried out at four preparatory schools. The sample comprised of 282 girls who were convinced to participate in the study. The results revealed that some students tended to prohibit varieties of activities. About two thirds of the girls tended to use some indigenous methods during menstrual period. Mothers, grandmothers and sisters were the source of information among the girls
