ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the effect of the cancer pain nursing team in standardized nursing inter-vention of pain in elderly cancer patients. Methods 76 patients in Department of Pain in our hospital were selected in our research.A random number table method was used to divide them into the control group and the observation group, with 38 cases in each group.Conventional treatment and nursing care was given to control group. The observa-tion group received routine treatment and nursing care by cancer pain nursing team, which the content of nursing was same, but the nursing method is different. Before and after the intervention, impact on pain intensity, adverse reactions and satisfaction for medical and nursing were compared between the two groups. Results Before nursing intervention, the pain score between the two groups had no statistically significant difference(P >0.05).After nursing interven-tion,pain score of the observation group was 1.5 (1,2)points,which was lower than 2(1,3)points in the control group, the observation group had better analgesic effect than the control group (Z = -4.385,P =0.000).The incidence rate of adverse reaction of the observation group was 13.16%,which was lower than 47.37% of the control group, the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(χ2 =10.537,P =0.001).The satisfaction for medical nursing process in the observation group was (9.74 ±0.45 )points, which was higher than (9.42 ± 0.76)points of the control group (t =2.213,P =0.030).Conclusion For senile cancer patients, the cancer pain nursing team could implement the standardized nursing intervention to relieve the body pain level, reduce the adverse drug reactions,so as to improve the quality of life.

ABSTRACT

Objective To remind the attention to contraceptive in cesarean section group by analyzing the treatment of 104 cases cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP).Methods From April 2009 to November 2012,104 patients with CSP treated in Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology,Wuhan Union Hospital were studied retrospectively. The incidence, treatment, and average in hospital days and average cost of hospitalization were analyzed. Results From 2009 to 2012,the number of CSP was 10,19,29,and 46 cases annually which accounted for the proportion of the corresponding period of gynecological patients were 0.33%,0.63%,0.97%,and 1.53%.Bilateral uterine artery embolization plus curettage was the most effective treatment. The average transfusion rate was 25%.The average amount of in-hospital days were (14 ± 8) days, the average cost of hospitalization were (12954.97 ± 3888.89) yuan. Conclusions The CSP incidence was increasing sharply in China.Although the current treatment methods could greatly reduce complications of CSP,it did harm to the patients and their family. The key to reduce the occurrence of CSP included reducing the rate of cesarean section, and strengthening contraceptive education after cesarean section.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the main causes of the missed and delayed diagnosis of endometrial carcinomas. Methods Endometrial carcinoma and missed and delayed diagnosis were used as key words to search in the Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure and Wanfang Data. Results There were 37 cases with details.Among these,10 cases were caused by false negative D&C (27.0% of the total);14 cases were caused by misdiagnosis as uterine benign disease (37.8% of the total);13 cases were caused by the overlooking of the primary symptoms because of the advanced diseases. Conclusions Paying more attention to the symptoms of endometrial carcinomas is necessary to reduce the missed and delayed diagnosis of endometrial carcinoma.

ABSTRACT

To investigate the expression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) in ovarian cancer cell lines, RT-PCR and immunocytochemistry were used to detect the expression of COX-2 in 5 ovarian cancer cell lines. The expression of COX-2 mRNA and protein was detected in all 5 cell lines. It is suggested that COX-2 is expressed in ovarian cancer cell lines, which provides a basis for the chemoprevention of ovarian cancer.
