ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the value of CD5 molecule-like protein(CD5L) and partial pressure of CO2 in arterial blood(PaCO2) in predicting the survival of patients with severe asthma and mechanical ventilation. Methods From Jan.2013 to Jan.2016,a total of 38 patients with severe asthma and mechanical ventilation were enrolled.Acute Physiology and Chronic Health EvaluationⅡ(APACHE II)were used to assess the severity.Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay was used to detect serum levels of CD5L at admission and 6 h after treatment.PaCO2 were also detected.Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between APACHEⅡ score and CD5L and PaCO2 levels.Receiver operation characteristic(ROC) curve was used to evaluate the value of CD5L and PaCO2 in predicting the survival of patients. Results APACHEⅡscores of survival patients were significantly higher than dead patients(P<0.05).CD5L level of survival patients after treatment was significantly lower than dead patients, while PaCO2 level was significantly higher(P<0.05).APACHEⅡ score was negatively correlated with serum CD5L level(r=-0.347,P<0.05),while positively correlated with PaCO2 level(r=0.573,P<0.05).ROC curve analysis showed that serum CD5L and PaCO2 were with predictive value for prediction the survival of patients, with sensitivity of 93.33%,specificity of 75.00%,accuracy of 89.47%,positive predictive value of 93.33%,and negative predictive value of 75.00% for CD5L,and those for PaCO2 were 90.00%,87.50%,89.47%,97.42% and 70.00%.Conclusion With the decreasing of CD5L level and increasing of PaCO2 level, severity of disease in patients with severe asthma and mechanical ventilation could be more serious condition, indicating poor prognosis.CD5L and PaCO2 could be with fine predictive value of survival of patients with severe asthma and mechanical ventilation.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore experiences of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) to take up the home- based resistance training. Methods Twenty- two patients with COPD who completed the 12 weeks home- based resistance training were interviewed deeply, the phenomenological analysis method was used. Results Though reading, analysis, reflection, separation, theme refining, two themes were drawn: self- perceived benefits; pyhcological, social and healthy status barriers on taking up and persisting in the exercises. Conclusions The study finds that self- perceived benefits, psychological changes and confusion in COPD patients during home- based resistance training. As the medical staff, to seize the COPD patients for the purpose of health to do the health education and strengthen the relevant training, to help the patient perceive benefits on resistance training, to enhance the confidence of participating in the pulmonary rehabilitation, to promote the behavior change. Additionally, we should identify obstacles early and take up the intervention, to stimulate the enthusiasm of home- based resistance training in patients with COPD.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the intervention effect of Wuxing-Jiangu exercise for different syndrome types of elderly patients with chronic low back pain. Methods A total of 199 patients who met the criteria of chronic low back pain (CLBP) were divided into a Wuxing-Jiangu exercise group (86 cases), a control group (85 cases) and a health education group (28 cases). On the basis of health education, theWuxing-Jiangu exercise group was given Wuxing-Jiangu exercise; the control group was treated with the warm type frequency therapeutic instrument; health education group was only given health education guide. The changes of the score of CLBP patients before and after treatment with different syndrome types were observed. Results After 3 months of treatment, the score of the kidney deficiency syndrome and spleen deficiency syndrome in the Wuxing-Jiangu exercise group, the control group and the health education group had significant differences (H were12.554, 8.014, respectively;all P<0.01); After 3 months of treatment, the score of kidney deficiency syndrome and spleen deficiency syndrome in the Wuxing-Jiangu exercise group reduced than before the treatment (Z were -5.975,-5.025, respectively)and 1 month after the treatment(Z were -5.976,-5.026, respectively) (all P<0.01).Conclusion Wuxing-Jiangu exercise can reduce the score of the kidney deficiency syndrome and spleen deficiency syndrome and improve clinical syndrome.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To provide basis for the pharmacognosia identification of Vitis Adstricta.METHODS: The property, microscopic feature and TLC feature of the Vitis Adstricta were identified. RESULTS: The property and microscopic feature of the Vitis Adstricta have been established, and the results and the reproducibility of TLC identification test were satisfactory. CONCLUSION: The method is simple and feasible, and applicable for the identification of Vitis Adstricta, and it serves as a scientific basis for the development and utilization and the quality control of Vitis Adstricta.

ABSTRACT

@#ObjectiveTo reveal status in quo of rehabilitation research according to rehabilitation periodical literature.MethodsMEDLINE and CBM are the retrieval databases during 1995—2002. ICD-10 is the main classification tool of central nervous diseases.ResultsThe percentage of rehabilitation literature is 1.32% on MEDLINE, 1.53% on CBM during 1995—2002. The ratio of rehabilitation literature is 1.67 between MEDLINE and CBM. The common study fields include stroke, paraplegia, hypertension, cerebral palsy, hemiplegia, Parkinson disease, epilepsy, and cerebral infarction, etc.The foreign study takes advantage in multiple sclerosis, and tetraplegia, etc. The fewer fields are neuromyelitis optica, arachnoiditis, and Huntington's disease, etc.ConclusionsThe study of central nervous disease rehabilitation is generally similar on some common CNS diseases, some foreign studies taking advantage.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To establish the quality standard for Jiujixingjun Power(Mentholum, Borneolum Syntheticum, Radix Scutellariae, Realgar, Cinnabaris, Brainia Insignis, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, etc.). Methods: Radix Scutellariae, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, Brainia Insignis, Mentholum and Borneolum Syntheticum in this medicine were identified by TLC and GC. The contents of Mentholum and Borneolum Syntheticum were determined by GC. Results: Radix Scutellariae and Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae and Brainia Insignis could be identified by TLC. Mentholum and Borneolum Syntheticum could be identified by GC. Its content was in the range of 75.69~78.51mg?g -1 and 61.26~ 64.14 mg?g -1 , respectively. The average recovery of Mentholum was 99.35%( RSD =0.98%) and Borneolum Syntheticum was 99.24%( RSD =0.98%). Conclusion: The method established is simple, feasible and reproducible and can be used as the quality standards for Jiujixingjun Powder.
