ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of high dose of calcitriol on end-stage renal disease (ESRD) in patients with secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT). Methods The clinical data of patients with ESRDcomplicated with SHPT were retrospectively analyzed. According to the treatment method were divided into control group and observation group, the control group were given conventional dose of calcitriol treatment, the observation group were treated with high dose of calcitriol. The differences of calcium and phosphorus levels, parathyroid hormone (PTH) level and quality of life were observed between the two groups before and after treatment. Results The serum phosphorus, calcium and calcium-phosphorus product in two groups of patients before treatment had no significant difference. After treatment, the above indicators decreased in two groups of patients compared with those before treatment, and the observation group was significantly lower (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no difference in the levels of PTH between the two groups. After treatment, the level of PTH in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in quality of life between the two groups before treatment. After treatment, the quality of life in the two groups were higher than before treatment, and the observation group was significantly higher (P<0.05). Conclusion High dose of calcitriol has good therapeutic effect for ESRD patients with SHPT and can significantly improve the patient's calcium and phosphorus and PTH levels, improve the quality of life of patients.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To study relationship between B10 cells and the incidence of autoimmune diabetes in nonobese diabetic mice. Methods:20 NOD/LT female mice of 6 week old were cultured in normal culture to 30 weeks, and the mice were divided into two groups according the mice’s blood glucose, serum creatinine and body weight detected at their 30 weeks old. IL-10 levels in spleen tissues of the two groups were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. We used flow cytometry to detect the proportion of B10 cells in the spleen of mice in the two groups. NOD/LT mice were randomly divided into control group and B10 group. The B10 cells were inoculated in B10 groups, their blood glucose were detected when they were 10,15,20,25 and 30 weeks old. Results: The blood glucose and serum creatinine levels were significantly higher in the group than that in the autoimmune diabetes group (P< 0. 05),and the body weight was significantly lower than that in the autoimmune diabetes group (P<0. 05). The level of IL-10 in the spleen tissues of the autoimmune diabetes mice was significantly higher than that in the non autoimmune diabetes group. The content of B10 cells in the spleen of the mice with autoimmune diabetes mellitus was significantly higher than that in the non autoimmune diabetes group. When mice at the age of 10,15 weeks, the incidence of autoimmune diabetes in B10 group was significantly lower than that in the control group, but the incidence of autoimmune diabetes in B10 group was significantly higher than that in control group at 20,25 and 30 weeks. Conclusion:The over accumulation of B10 cells may be one of the reasons for the further development of autoimmune diabetes in NOD mice.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To observe the effect of electromyographic biofeedback on the wrist dirsiflexion function of the patients with cerebral infarction at different Brunnstrom stages, and to clarify the treatment of electromyographic biofeedback, and to provide basis for its clinical application. Methods:A total of 100 cerebral infarction patients were selected.Among them 54 BrunnstromⅠ-Ⅱ patients were randomly divided into treatment group (n= 32)and control group (n = 22),and another 46 Brunnstrom Ⅲ patients were randomly divided into treatment group (n=23)and control group (n=23).The patients in four groups were treated with the same routine stroke rehabilitation therapy while the patients in treatment groups still received the electromyographic biofeedback therapy additionally. The maximum electromyographic contraction of muscle, active range of movement (AROM) and Fugl-Meyers Assessment (FMA)of the extension of wrist joint were evaluated before treatment and 4 and 8 weeks after treatment, respectively. Results:The maximum electromyographic contraction values of muscle of the patients in BrunnstromⅠ-Ⅱ treatment group and control group were significantly improved 8 weeks after treatment (P 0.05).The AROM in Brunnstrom Ⅲ treatment group and control group were significantly improved 4 weeks after treatment (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01 ), and the value in treatment group was significantly higher than that in control group (P < 0.05).The FMA in BrunnstromⅠ-Ⅱtreatment group and control group were significantly improved 8 weeks after treatment (P <0.05),while the value in treatment group was higher than that in control group (P <0.05);the FMA in Brunnstrom Ⅲ treatment group began to improve 4 weeks after treatment (P < 0.05)and it was significantly higher than that in control group (P <0.05). The FMA in control group began to improve 8 weeks after treatment (P <0.05). Conclusion:Electromyographic biofeedback can increase the strength and improve the body function of the patients with cerebral infaction.

ABSTRACT

This paper introduces the feature of binocular indirect ophthalmoscope and its application in ophthalmologic examination and operation. Compared with direct ophthalmoscope, binocular indirect ophthalmoscope has many special advantages owing to its unique illumination system and principle of formation of image. Most of ocular fundus diseases can be diagnosed correctly by binocular indirect ophthalmoscope. The view is that the inspection technique of binocular indirect ophthalmoscope is the most convenient and predominant in fundus examination, ophthalmology operation and treatment until now, and is of value in use.
