ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the application value of WeChat-based problem-based learning teaching method combined with micro-classroom in the teaching of contrast-enhanced gastrointestinal ultrasound imaging for residents in standardized residency training. Methods:A total of 40 trainees who underwent the standardized residency training in the Department of Ultrasound, The First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from January 2019 to June 2021 were selected as the research objects. They were randomly divided into the experimental group (WeChat-based PBL teaching method combined with micro-classroom) and the control group (traditional teaching method). The teaching content was the diagnosis of gastrointestinal ultrasound imaging. After the theoretical learning and practice, assessments of contrast-enhanced gastrointestinal ultrasound imaging including theory and operating practice were performed to all students. SPSS 22.0 was used for t test and rank sum test. Results:After training, the theoretical test scores of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group [(93.09±2.31) vs. (90.63±2.26)], and the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.05). However, there was no significant difference between the two groups in the number distribution of students at all levels of operational practice ( P>0.05). Conclusion:The WeChat-based PBL teaching method combined with micro-classroom is beneficial to improve students' knowledge of contrast-enhanced gastrointestinal ultrasound imaging, and is worth being popularized and applied in clinical teaching.

ABSTRACT

Objective To establish a method for determination and optimize the extraction process of the content of plantamajoside in plantain. Methods Plantamajoside content was determined by HPLC.The effects of ethanol concentration, ethanol amount and extraction time on the extraction of plantamajoside from plantain were studied by orthogonal design. Results The calibration curve was linear (r=0.999 6) over the range of 12.52-125.10μg/ml.The average recovery was 98.57% (RSD=1.45%).The optimum extraction process was as follows:60%ethanol, 10times volumes, extracted 2times, 1heach time. Conclusion The established method was simple, accurate and reproducible for determination of the content of plantamajoside in plantain. The optimal extraction process was stable and feasible.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the correlativity between elasticity modulus and pathological severity in chronic pancreatitis (CP).Methods Twenty-one pigs were divided randomly into experimental group (n=18) and control group (n=3) using random number method. The main pancreatic duct (MPD) was incompletely ligated to establish the CP model. In control group, MPD was not ligated. The animals were killed in batches at 4th, 8th and 12th week after surgery. The pancreatic tissue was taken for elasticity modulus test and pathological examination, and the pigs were classified into control, mild, moderate and severe groups based on the severity of fibrosis.Cell density, fat infiltration and extracellular edema were observed and classified into mild and severe. The difference of elasticity modulus among different groups were compared by Variance analysis, the correlation between pancreatic fibrosis and elastic modulus was analyzed with Spearman correlation analysis, and ROC curve was used to evaluate its efficacy of diagnosing CP.Results Sixteen CP models were established successfully expected for 2 deaths (mild, n=7;moderate, n=2 and severe, n=7).All of the control group (n=3) showed normal pancreas. The elasticity modulus of control, mild and moderate to severe group were 0.4268±0.0566, 0.3203±0.0518 and 0.2235±0.0685, respectively. The difference between the groups was statistically significant (F=13.658,P0.05).Conclusions The elasticity modulus can be used to detect the pathological changes of CP, and evaluate the CP pathologic grades.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to investigate the enantioselectivity of norgestrel (NG) transdermal permeation and the potential influence of linalool and lipids on the enantioselectivity. In vitro skin permeation studies of NG across the excised rat skins were performed with Valia-Chien diffusion cells, and the permeation samples were analyzed by enantioselective HPLC. The possible enantioselective permeation of NG across intact rat back skin and lipids extracted rat back skin and the influence of linalool were evaluated. The skin permeation rate of dl-NG was two times higher than that of l-NG when donor solutions (EtOH/H2O 2 : 8, v/v) containing l-NG or dl-NG. It may be mainly attributed to the solubility discrepancy between enantiomer and racemate. The enantioselective permeation of dl-NG across intact rat skin was observed when the donor solutions containing dl-linalool. The permeation flux of l-NG was 22% higher than that of d-NG. But interestingly, the enantioselective permeation of dl-NG disappeared under the same experimental condition except that the lipid extracted rat skin was used. Attenuated total reflection-fourier transform infrared spectroscopy analysis of stratum corneum showed that the wave number for asymmetric CH2 stretching vibrations of lipids treated with dl-linalool was greater than that of the control. The results indicated that the enantioselective permeation of NG may be contributed by the interaction between dl-linalool and lipids. More than half of lipids were composed of ceramides. The stereospecific interaction maybe existed among chiral enhancer (linalool), lipids (ceramides) and/or chiral drugs (NG).

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo investigate the expression of miR-21 in diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL)and normal lymph tissues and its potential relevance with clinicopathological characteristics.MethodsThe expression levels of miR-21 in 50 primary DLBCL and 12 normal lymph node tissue specimens were examined by TaqMan real-time polymerase chain reaction. The expression of bcl-2 and p53 was detected by immunohistochemistry staining. ResultsThe expression of miR-21 was significantly higher in tumor tissues than that in normal tissues, in GCB subtypes higher than in non-GCB subtypes. And it was negatively correlated with bcl-2(P=0.020),while positively correlated with p53(P=0.022). Up-regulated miR-21 expression was low in three years of survival rate. ConclusionMiR-21 may indicate a more aggressive phenotype and serve as a molecular prognostic marker in DLBCL. High-expression of miR-21 is a key feature that is correlated with cell proliferation in DLBCL.miR-21 may have some guiding significance in prognosis.bcl-2,p53 is possibly one of the targets of miR-21 in DLBCL.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUNDTo detect the expression of human epidermal-growth-factor receptor 4 (HER4) and elucidate the relationship between its overexpression and the clinicopathological characteristics in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

METHODSThe expression of HER4 was detected in 70 cases of paraffin-embedded NSCLC tissues by immunohistochemical assay.

RESULTSHER4 were overexpressed in 91.4% of NSCLC. The overexpression of HER4 was significantly related to lymph node metastasis (P=0.007), TNM stages (P=0.011) and postoperative survival rate (P= 0.0258).

CONCLUSIONSerbB4 is one of the genes to regulate the growth of advanced NSCLC. The artificial interference with HER4 overexpression may be a good way in the treatment of advanced NSCLC.
