ABSTRACT

Intrauterine cigarette smoke exposure(ICSE)refers to a condition under which pregnant women actively inhale and/or passively inhale cigarettes and smogs mostly consisting of nicotine, tar and carbon monoxide during the first, second and third trimesters of pregnancies. As an adverse environmental factor in early life, ICSE is associated with increased risks of various diseases at childhood and adulthood.ICSE is closely related with children′s cognitive and behavioral developmental disorders. It has been reported that ICSE led to elevated risks of cognitive impairments including disorders in fine motor skills, language and vocabulary, reading comprehension, matrix reasoning, working memory, learning skills, orientation and other capabilities.Additionally, it is associated with increased risks of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and sleep disorder, but the association with autism spectrum disorder is still controversial. The review focuses on the effects of ICSE on cognitive and behavioral development, and summarizes the underlying mechanisms, providing more clinical ideas for etiological studies of cognitive and behavioral developmental disorders in children.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To optimize the extraction technology of the flavonoids from Glycyrrhiza uralensis. METHODS: Using total contents of four flavonoids, liquiritinapioside, glycyrrhizin, isoliquiritin apioside and formononetin as indexes, types and volume fractions of extraction solvents (water, ethanol), volume of addition and extraction time as factors, based on single factor experiment, Box-Behnken design-response surface method was used to optimize the extraction technology of flavonoids from G. uralensis. Validation test was also conducted. RESULTS: The optimal extraction technology was 50 mL 50% ethanol as extraction solvent, 0.200 g G. uralensis, ultrasonic extraction for 50 min. In validation test, the extraction amounts of liquiritinapioside, glycyrrhizin, isoliquiritin apioside and formononetin were 10.733 0, 27.784 9, 3.441 9, 0.429 1 mg/g, respectively (all RSDs<3.0%, n=3). The average total extraction amount of four flavonoids was obtained was 42.388 9 mg/g, the relative error of which to predicted value (42.173 2 mg/g) was 0.52% (n=3). CONCLUSIONS: The optimized extraction technology is simple, rapid and stable, and can be used for the extraction of flavonoids from G. uralensis.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To establish the method for content determination of chlorogenic acid and periplocin in Miao medicine Periploca forrestii. METHODS:HPLC method was adopted. The determination was performed on Xtimate C18 column with mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-0.1% phosphoric acid solution(gradient elution)at the flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. The detection wavelength was set at 220 nm,and column temperature was maintained at 25 ℃. The sample size was 10 μL. Cluster analysis was conducted according to the content of chlorogenic acid and periplocin in samples by SPSS 23.0 software. RESULTS:The linear range of chlorogenic acid and periplocin were 0.040 6-1.8 μg(r=0.999 4)and 0.016 8-2.3 μg(r=0.999 9),respectively. RSDs of precision, stability and repeatability tests were all lower than 5.0%. The quantitation limits were 0.918 0,0.084 3 μg/mL, and detection limits were 0.102 0,0.025 3 μg/mL, respectively. RSD of durability were lower than 3.0%. The recoveries were 102.66%-104.00%(RSD=0.53%,n=6),96.44%-100.79%(RSD=1.73%,n=6),respectively. RSD of durability were lower than 3.0%. The result indicated that 18 batches of samples were divided into 3 categories by cluster analysis. S2,S4,S10,S12 and S14-S18 were divided into one category;S1,S3,S5-S7,S9,S11 and S13 were divided into another category;S8 was regarded as one category. CONCLUSIONS:The method can be applied for quality control and evaluation of P. forrestii. The contents of chlorogenic acid and periplocin in P. forrestii from different producing areas are different greatly. There is a certain correlation between the content of each component and the producing area.
