ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the in vivo behaviour of the pulsed tablet in six scintigraphic studies. Methods The lag time and the anatomical position at the time of release were detected by scintigraphic evaluation. Results The different types pulsed release tablets all can achieve the lag time in vivo. Conclusion Scintigraphic study is the first considered method to evaluate the in vivo behaviour of the new formulation.

ABSTRACT

Objective Effects of intra articular injection of 153 Sm citrate HA on antigen induced arthritis were investigated to provide the theoretical fundation for its clinical application. Methods Rabbit arthritis was induced by subcutaneous injection of ovalbumin at weeks 2 and 4,and by intra articular injection of it at week 6.The dosage of 1 85?10 7 Bq or 3 7?10 7 Bq of 153 Sm citrate HA was injected separately into a side of knee joint. The severity of arthritis was determined by joint swelling, skin surface temperature, macroscopic and histologic changes in joints when the rabbits were killed at week 9 after establishment of model. Results Both dosages of 153 Sm have an initial pro inflammatory effects during one week after injection, and then resulted in reduction of joint diameter and skin surface temperature. 153 Sm (3 7?10 7 Bq) showed a more alleviation than 153 Sm (1 85?10 7 Bq) in respect of macroscopic and histologic changes. Conclusion Synovectomy with 153 Sm citrate HA is effective for treatment of chronic arthritis with dependence on the doses and deserves further study.

ABSTRACT

Forty two patients with coronary artery disease were studied by SPECT and planar methods with dipyridamoloe and rest Tc 99m-MIBI myocardial perfusion imaging. For SPECT, the sensitivity for identification of patients with coronary artery disease was 91%, and for planar methods, the sensitivity was 70%. Comparing dipyridamole with rest images, three kinds of defects were presented (persistent defect, reversible defect and defect in the rest imaging reduced in the dipyridamole imaging). The correlation between SPECT and planar methods was better than between SPECT and ECG. The agreement was 86% for the former and 78% for the latter. There were no serious side effects in the dipyridamole test.

ABSTRACT

Technetium-99m galactosyl-neoglycoalbumin (99mTc-NGA) is a new hepatocellular receptor imaging ligand Its preparation and preclinical research are reported in this paper. The ligand was synthesized by the chemical coupling and the product was nontoxic and apyrogenic with good stability both in vivo and in vitro. The static images and kinetic data obtained from the liver portal vein ligation group (n = 2), the hepatic necrosis group (n=2) and the control group (n=6) indicate: (1) Tc-NGA imaging can provide excellent hepatic images, and (2) hepatic kinetic data appear to provide a new means for diagnosis of liver diseases.

ABSTRACT

Dynamic renal imaging studies were performed in 132 patients using 99m Tc DTPA and 131 I OIH. Effective renal plasma flow(ERPF) and glomerular filtration rate(GFR) was obtained. GFRs were calculated with 2 background regions of interest(ROI),conventional subrenal areas(SB) and suprarenal areas(SP). The relative renal functions(RR) obtained by GFRs determination was significantly higer compared with that by ERPF. These results suggested that the RR of impaired kidney determined by GFR(SB) was obviously higher than that assessed by ERPF. Higher coefficient( r value) was gotten with GFR(SP) than with GFR(SB).Results suggested that the GFR obtained with conventional subrenal background ROI might overestimate individual renal function of the poorly functional kidney and the GFR estimated by suprarenal background ROI might be more accurate.
