ABSTRACT

Se presentan dos casos de hemangiomatosis hepática multinodular que presentaron como complicación insuficiencia cardíaca congestiva; ambas pacientes fueron tratadas exitosamente mediante embolización intrahepática de los hemangiomas. La hemangiomatosis hepática multinodular es una enfermedad hepática infrecuente caracterizada por la presencia de hemangiomas en el hígado y otros órganos, sobre todo, la piel; su importancia radica en la alta incidencia de insuficiencia cardiaca congestiva (ICC) que la acompaña. Clínicamente se caracteriza por una triada: hepaptomegalia, falla cardiaca congestiva y múltiples hemangiomas cutáneos.


Two cases of multinodular hepatic hemangiomatosis are presented, both has congestive heart failure as a complication, this patients were treated successfully by intrahepatic embolization of the hemangiomas. Hemangioendotelioma also known as multinodular hepatic hemangiomatosis is a rare liver diseases characterized by the presence of hemangiomas in the liver and other organs, specially the skin, its importance situates in the high incident of cardial faillure that accompanies the diseases. Clinically it is characterized for a triad of: hepatomegaly, congestive heart failure and cutaneous hemangiomas.
