ABSTRACT

Objective:To analyze and learn about the dose to the lens of the eye of interventional radiology workers in some hospitals in shaanxi province from 2018 to 2020.Methods:From 2018 to 2020, three tertiary hospitals in shaanxi province were selected to monitor the dose to the lens of the eye of interventional radiology workers for three consecutive years. Monitoring was made for 152 person times, lasting for a monitoring period of 3 months. Analysis and comparison were carried out of dose equivalents to the interventional radiology workers in terms of different sexes, positions and departments, together with associated influencing factors during the three years.Results:The difference in equivalent dose between the three years is statistically significant ( χ2=29.15, P<0.05), and a downward trend in the average annual equivalent dose was found from 2018 to 2020. The number of interventional radiology workers who received doses to the lens of the eye mainly between MDL and 5.0 mSv accounted for 69.08%. The difference in the average annual equivalent dose in different positions and departments was statistically significant ( H=18.44, 22.55, P<0.05). The average annual equivalent dose to doctor was higher than for nurses and technicians ( Z=-3.36, -3.02, P<0.05). The average annual equivalent dose in cardiovascular medicine department was higher than in other departments, with statistically significant difference ( Z=-2.58, -3.76, -3.40, P<0.05). Logistics regression analysis showed that radiation working hours, positions, routine personal doses, workload and exposure time are the factors that affect the average annual equivalent dose. Conclusions:The annual equivalent dose to the lens of the eye of interventional radiology workers in shaanxi province meets the relevant national standards. However, the annual dose to some radiological workers has a normal high value. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the continued monitoring of the dose to the lens of the eye of the interventional radiology workers, and adjust the types of work for the workers based on radiation work hours, position, routine personal dose, workload and exposure time, so as to effectively reduce the dose level of the eye lens.

ABSTRACT

@#<b>Objective</b> To understand the basic information on radiological health technical service institutions in Shaanxi Province, China and analyze the main problems, and to strengthen the capacity building of radiological health technical service institutions in Shaanxi Province. <b>Methods</b> The radiological health technical service institutions registered in Shaanxi Province were investigated and analyzed by means of a questionnaire and literature review. <b>Results</b> There were 20 radiological health technical service institutions in Shaanxi Province, including 7 state-owned ones and 13 privately owned ones; of all the institutions, there were 3 disease control institutions, and 15 institutions obtaining the qualification of radiation protection evaluation, radiation health protection testing, and individual dose monitoring at the same time. The total number of radiation workers in the institution was 237, including 48.5% aged less than 35, 68.8% with bachelor degree or above, 54.4% with intermediate professional title or above, 26.5% with a major related to radiation protection, and 79.3% with national and provincial training. The institutions were equipped with 309 testing instruments, of which the radiation diagnostic performance testing equipment accounted for the largest proportion (52.4%). <b>Conclusion</b> The service scope and capacity of radiological health technical service institutions in Shaanxi Province can meet the current needs of the province, but the institutions need to be improved in terms of personnel, equipment, and service quality. The quality control of institutions needs to be strengthened to standardize the service behavior in the whole province.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND:Vascular endothelial injury usually appears following atherosclerosis, hypertension, diabetes mellitus and other diseases, which can be repaired by endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) in the systemic circulation. OBJECTIVE:To study the effect of salveanolic acid B on the mobilization and adhesion of EPCs in mice. METHODS:Thirty C57BL/6 mice were selected and randomly divided into surgical and non-surgical groups, (n=15 per group). Common carotid arteries of mice in the surgical group were injured by iron wire, then were subdivided into three groups (n=5 per group), and were given the injection of 5% of glucose (control group), 100 g/L salveanolic acid B and 10 μmol/L vascular endothelial growth factor, respectively. Meanwhile, the mice in the non-surgical group received the same assignment and treatment, but the common carotid arteries were not injured. After consecutive 7-day administration, the EPCs in the peripheral blood of the mice were isolated, and the EPCs adhesion was tested by flow chamber experiment. The serum levels of stromal cell-derived factor-1 and interleukin-8 were detected by ELISA kits. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The proportion of EPCs in the surgical group was significantly increased compared with the non-surgical group (P < 0.05). After 7-day administration, the proportion of EPCs in the salveanolic acid B and vascular endothelial growth factor subgroups of the surgical group was significantly higher than that in the control subgroup (P < 0.05); the proportion of EPCs in the vascular endothelial growth factor subgroup of the non-surgical group was significantly higher than that in the control and salveanolic acid B subgroups (P < 0.05). Flow chamber experiment revealed that the number of EPCs in the salveanolic acid B subgroup was significantly more than that in the control subgroup (P < 0.05). In the surgical group, the serum levels of stromal cell-derived factor-1 and interleukin-8 in the in the salveanolic acid B and vascular endothelial growth factor subgroups were significantly higher than those in the control subgroup (P < 0.05); in the non-surgical group, the serum levels of stromal cell-derived factor-1 and interleukin-8 in the in the vascular endothelial growth factor subgroup were significantly higher than those in the control subgroup (P < 0.05). To conclude, salveanolic acid B can increase the efficiency of the EPCs mobilization in bone marrowin vivo, help the EPCs adhere to the collagen surface, and upregulate the serum levels of stromal cell-derived factor-1 and interleukin-8.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) for treatment of chronic dilated cardiomyopathy complicated with systolic heart failure.Methods Fifty-nine patients with chronic dilated cardiomyopathy and systolic heart failure in Henan Provincial People's Hospital from December 2013 and December 2014 were selected and divided into treatment group (n =30)and control group (n =29).All patients were given routine drug treatment.Based on this,the patients in treatment group were given umbilical cord MSCs 20mL by intracoronary transplantation;the patients in control group were given the same volume of saline.The changes of cardiac function,left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF),left ventricular end diastolic diameter(LVEDD),6 minutes walking distance,the amino-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) levels,the re-hospitalization rate,mortality rate of patients in the two groups were observed and compared at 1 month and 6 months after treatment.Results The cardiac function grading of the New York Heart Association (NYHA)of patients in the two groups were improved at 1 month and 6 months after treatment (P < 0.05);the NYHA cardiac function grading of patients in the treatment group was significantly better than that in the control group at 1 month and 6 months after treatment (x2 =12.64,16.75;P < 0.05).There was no statistic difference in LVEDD,LVEF,serum level of NT-proBNP and 6-min walking distance of patients between the two groups before treatment (P > 0.05).There was statistic difference in LVEDD,LVEF,serum level of NT-proBNP and 6-min walking distance of patients in the two groups before treatment and 1 month,6 months after treatment(P > 0.05).There was no statistic difference in LVEDD of patients between the two groups at 1 month after treatment (P > 0.05);the LVEF,6-min walking distance of patients in the treatment group were significantly higher than those in the control group,but the serum level of NT-proBNP of patients in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group at 1 month after treatment (P < 0.05).At 6 months after treatment,the LVEDD,serum level of NT-proBNP of patients in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group,but the LVEF and 6-min walking distance of patients in the treatment group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05).The mortality rate of patients in the treatment group (6.67%,2/30) was significantly lower than that in the control group (24.14%,7/29) (x2 =4.99,P < 0.05).The re-hospitalization rate of patients in the treatment group and control group was 16.67% (5/30) and 31.031.(9/29) respectively;there was no statistic difference in the re-hospitalization rate of patients between the two groups (x2 =1.68,P > 0.05).Conclusion Umbilical cord MSCs can improve the cardiac function and cardiac remodeling,reduce the mortality rate of patients with chronic dilated cardiomyopathy complicated with systolic heart failure.

ABSTRACT

This paper is aimed to evaluate the biomechanism of monosegmental and bisegmental anterior fixation for thoracolumbar burst fracture. Twenty-four fresh porcine spines (T13-L3) were used in this study. Three of the fresh porcine spines were randomly selected as intact group, and the others were made into L1 burst fracture models. Fifteen of the twenty one fracture models fitting to the experimental requirements were divided randomly into five groups. Each of the specimens in the five groups and in the intact group underwent the tests of load-strain, load-displacement, stiffness and extreme limit bisegmental fixation group (P<0.05) loading. Data for the monosegmental fixation were insignificantly different on the load- strain and load-displacement tests from those for the bisegmental fixation (P>0.05), but were significantly different from those of the bisegmental fixation on the stiffness test, torsion test and limit loading test. Anterior monosegmental fixation is more stable and has stronger strain of axial compression than the bisemental fixation group. Resect pedicle group is insignificantly different from the monosegmental fixation group,so it is important to keep the pedicle integrity of injured vertebral body in surgery. The biomechanical stability of monosegmental fixation is feasible for thoracolumbar burst fracture.

ABSTRACT

Intervertebral disc (IVD) degeneration is one of the major causes of low back pain. As current clinical treatments are aimed at restoring biomechanical function and providing symptomatic relief, the methods focused on biological repair have aroused interest and several tissue engineering approaches using different cell types have been proposed. Owing to the unsuitable nature of degenerate cells for tissue engineering, attention has been given to the use of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). In this connection, we have made a study on the characteristics of MSCs derived from adult bone marrow and on the feasibility of constructing IVD tissue-engineering cell under a Three-Dimensional Pellet Culture System. The human bone marrow MSCs were isolated and purified with density gradient solution and attachment-independent culture system. MSCs isolated using this method are a homogeneous population as indicated by morphology and other criteria. They have the capacity for self-renewal and proliferation, and the multilineage potential to differentiate.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To probe the mechanism of Dachengqi Decoction combined with the treatment principle of promoting production of body fluid with sweet-flavored and cold-natured drugs on the earth-dry and water-exhaust syndrome.Methods:Chinchilla Giganta rabbits were randomly divided into four groups,i.e. blank control group,pathological model group,timely purgation to preserve Yin treatment group and treatment group of purgation with drugs sweet in favor and cold in nature.Changes of symptoms,signs,pathological changes of organs,WBC count,nitric oxide(NO),superoxide dismutase(SOD),malondialdehyde(MDA),middle molecular substances(MMS),sulfydryl(-SH),K+ and Na+,and viscosities of whole blood and plasma before and after treatment were investigated.Results:There were significant differences in decrease of body temperature,increases of SOD,MMS,K+ and Na+,decreases of NO,MDA,-SH and viscosities of whole blood and plasma as the two treatment groups compared with the pathological model group(P
