ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the effect of budesonide/doxofylline on patients with persistent asthma. Methods Sixty patients with moderate asthma were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. Patients in treatment group accepted the inhalation budesonide 400μg/d and doxofylline tablet 0.2 bid po but those in control group accepted the inhalation budesonide/formoterol 160/4.5μg bid. FeNO, sputum eosinophils, PEF and ACT scores were compared between two groups. Results PEF and ACT scores in treatment group were lower to those in control group (P0.05). After three months, sputum eosinophils in treatment group were better than that in control group (P0.05). Conclusion There is no significant difference in controlling asthma between budesonide/doxofylline and budesonide/formooterol

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the characteristics and significance of atypical flow cytometric immunophenotype in plasma cell myeloma. Methods Using case-control study , 48 cases with atypical immunophenotype of plasma cell myeloma and 42 cases as control group were studied by flow cytometry , the former cases were classified into three groups according to the expression of CD 38, CD138, CD19, CD56 :CD38 +/CD138 +/CD19 +/CD56 +, CD38 +/CD138 +/CD19 +/CD56 -, CD38 +/CD138 +/CD19 -/CD56 -.And compare the three groups with intracellular immunoglobulin light chain (cKappa, cLambda) , bone marrow morphology and immunofixation. The positive rate was compared with chi-square test. Results Bone marrow plasma cells showed expression of particular antigens in the following proportion of the 48 cases:CD45 29.17%, CD38 100%, CD138 100%, CD19 95.83%, CD56 43.75%, cKappa 43.75%and cLambda 56.25%.And in the three groups , the expression of monoclonal immunoglobulin were 43.75%, 52.08%and 4.17%, which bone marrow morphology and immunofixation were 57.14%,80%, 100%and 71.43%,88%,100%.The positive rate of flow cytometry , bone marrow morphology and serum immunofixation electrophoresis were 100%, 70.83% and 81.25%.While the expression of particular antigens in the control group were:CD45 47.62%, CD38 100%, CD138 100%, CD19 100%, CD56 0%, cKappa 100% and cLambda 100%.And no abnormalities were detected in bone marrow morphology and immunofixation. Conclusions Compared with the bone marrow morphology and immunofixation , multiparameter flow cytometry has more helpful to find out atypical immune phenotype of plasma cell myeloma, and differentiate malignant and benign plasma cell , contributes to the diagnosis of clinical plasma cell myeloma, prognosis and treatment monitoring.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the effects of occupational exposure to endocrine disrupters (ECDs) in plastic plants. Methods 719 female workers including observation group exposed to plastic manufacture production environment and control group not exposed to plastic manufacture production environment were selected by the cluster sampling method and were investigated using the unified questionnaire on female reproductive function. Results The observation group showed significantly higher prevalence rates of abnormal menstruation, and irregular menstrual period, menstrual cycle and menstrual quantity compared with those of control group (P

ABSTRACT

According to that Y-chromosomal sequence in characterised by Y-specific repeat DNA family (DYZ1 ), which contain 800-5000 copies, a pair of primers Y3, Y4 is designed to amplify their 446bp long of specific DNA segment by polymerase chain reaction (PCR), so as to detect male fetal cells in materal blood. In this paper male fetal cells in maternal blood can be detected by PCR amplification of unpurified DNA from maternal peripheral blood during various stages of gestation (early, middle, late). Compared with villi, ammotic fluid and deliverd neonate sex their coincident rate are 93%. 100%, 87. 5% respectively among three periods. It is revealed that noninvasive examining fetal cells from peripheral blood of pregnant women for diagnosis of sex-linked inherited diseases is significant valuable.

ABSTRACT

According to ZFY gene sequence on Y-chromosome, which supposedly codes for the testis determining factor (TDF), a pair of primers F3.2 and F4.2 were designed to specifically amplify 650 bp DNA fragment. The amplified product was electrophoresized on 1.5% agarose gel stained with EB, and then directly visualized under UV. This protocol resulted in constantly producing 650 bp band of the specific product by amplification of 500 pg male genomic DNA and had the same result when mixed with 100 fold amount of female genomic DNA. When this method was used to detect Y-ZFY of chorionic villi and amniotic fluid in 20 samples respectively, its accuracy for determining fetal sex reached 100 percent.
