ABSTRACT

Retrieved the literature on randomized controlled trials (RCT) of acupuncture and moxibustion from 2011 to 2020 in the Web of Science (WOS) database, and explored research hotspots and frontiers in the field of acupuncture and moxibustion by visually analyze to countries, institutions, authors, keywords, cited literature, etc. using CiteSpace V5.6.R2. A total of 1147 articles were included. China has the largest number of publications, and the top 3 publications are Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Capital Medical University and Kyung Hee University. The hot research interventions in acupuncture and moxibustion include acupuncture, electroacupuncture, and bee acupuncture. The hot research topics include nerve regeneration, spasms, nausea, pain, obesity, cancer, etc. The research frontiers include acupuncture analgesia, diversification of acupuncture and its clinical effects, brain effects of acupuncture and acupuncture clinical mechanisms. It is believed that the cooperation between countries and institutions should be strengthened in the future, and deeper research should be carried out on the research content that is both hot spot and frontier.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the effect of Whenshen prescription on hepatic encephalopathy in patients with HBV-related hepatic cirrhosis and kidney Yang deficiency syndrome and the content of high-mobility group protein B1 (HMGB1) and Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4). Method:The 66 patients treated in the Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from August 2013 to January 2015 were included. A prospective, parallel controlled design was used. The 66 cases were randomly divided into treatment group and control group according to 1:1 ratio, with 33 cases in each group.The control group was treated with comprehensive therapy, colon dialysis and placebo enema, while treatment group was treated with comprehensive therapy, colon dialysis and Whenshen prescription enema for 10 days. Finally, liver function, number connect test (NCT), digit-symbol test (SDT), awake time, the total effective rate and content of HMGB1 and TLR4 were analyzed. Result:There was no significant difference between two groups at baseline. The total effective rate in treatment group was 93.9%, which was higher than 72.7% in control group (PP1 and TLR4 in treatment group were lower than those in the control group. Conclusion:Whenshen prescription can significantly improve the clinical efficacy by inhibiting the contents of HMGB1 and TLR4.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To analyze the whole microbial structure in a case of rampant caries to provide evidence for its prevention and treatment.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Clinical samples including blood, supragingival plaque, plaque in the caries cavity, saliva, and mucosal swabs were collected with the patient's consent. The blood sample was sent for routine immune test, and the others samples were stained using Gram method and cultured for identifying colonies and 16S rRNA sequencing. DNA was extracted from the samples and tested for the main cariogenic bacterium (Streptococcus mutans) with qPCR, and the whole microbial structure was analyzed using DGGE.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The patient had a high levels of IgE and segmented neutrophils in his blood. Streptococci with extremely long chains were found in the saliva samples under microscope. Culture of the samples revealed the highest bacterial concentration in the saliva. The relative content of hemolytic bacterium was detected in the samples, the highest in the caries cavity; C. albicans was the highest in the dental plaque. In addition, 33 bacterial colonies were identified by VITEK system and 16S rDNA sequence phylogenetic analysis, and among them streptococci and Leptotrichia wade were enriched in the dental plaque sample, Streptococcus mutans, Fusobacterium nucleatum, and Streptococcus tigurinus in the caries cavity, and Lactobacillus in the saliva. S. mutans was significantly abundant in the mucosal swabs, saliva and plaque samples of the caries cavity as shown by qPCR. Compared to samples collected from a healthy individual and another two patients with rampant caries, the samples from this case showed a decreased bacterial diversity and increased bacterial abundance shown by PCR-DGGE profiling, and multiple Leptotrichia sp. were detected by gel sequencing.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The outgrowth of such pathogenic microorganisms as S. mutans and Leptotrichia sp., and dysbiosis of oral microbial community might contribute to the pathogenesis of rampant caries in this case.</p>

ABSTRACT

To study the influences of warming kidney prescription on antiviral therapeutic efficacy and creatine kinase (CK) level in telbivudine-treated HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B patients with kidney yang deficiency syndrome. Ninety-six cases were enrolled and randomly divided into two groups (n=48 each): warming kidney prescription treatment or control. Both groups were treated for 52 weeks with telbivudine monotherapy, but the treatment group received additional treatment with the warming kidney prescription. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome score, biochemical response, virological response, serological response, CK level, and adverse reactions were recorded for each group in order to perform comparative analysis of the warming kidney prescription's effects. A total of 84 patients, including 43 cases in the treatment group, completed the study. The warming kidney prescription led to significantly improved total clinical syndrome efficacy, TCM syndrome score, biochemical response, virological response, and HBeAg serological responses, as evidenced by changes for each parameter observed in the treatment group versus the control group (respectively, 88.37% vs. 63.41%, 4.97+/-1.88 vs. 10.13+/-3.72, 95.35% vs. 75.61%, 81.40% vs. 56.10%, 48.84% vs. 26.83% (all, P less than 0.05)). No patient in either group experienced primary treatment failure. Seven cases, all from the control group, experienced virological breakthrough. Elevated CK was observed in both the treatment and control groups, but significantly more patients in the control group experienced this adverse reaction (respectively, 73.17% vs. 44.19%; P less than 0.01). The warming kidney prescription can increase telbivudine antiviral therapeutic efficacy and decrease the telbivudine-induced increase in creatine kinase in HbeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B patients with kidney yang deficiency syndrome.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the effect of the combined use of traditional Chinese medicine and lamivudine(LMD) in treating chronic hepatitis B patients, and to follow the serological response for six months or longer. Methods CNKI, Wanfang data, VIP data, CBMdisk, MEDLINE,EMBASE,BIOSIS and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials database and literature were searched, to include randomized controlled trails (RCT) that used LMD alone or combined with traditional Chinese medicine. RevMan 4.2 was used for data analysis. Results The Meta analysis of 7 trails demonstrated that the HBeAg conversion rate in treatment group was higher than those from the control group, and the differences were statistically significant at 6, 9, 12 months. Conclusion Data demonstrated that early intervention of traditional Chinese medicine might increase the HBeAg conversion rate but conclusion needs to be more specific to the types of trials.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate the metabolism-based interaction between ipriflavone(IP) and other drugs in vitro.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>IP and propafenone or estradiol, or other drugs were co-incubated with rat liver microsome induced by beta-naphthoflavone. The concentrations of residual substrate in microsomal incubates were determined by HPLC.</p><p><b>RESULT</b>The metabolism of propafenone (10 microg/ml) incubated with 2 microg/ml or 50 microg/ml IP was markedly inhibited compared with control group(P<0.01). While the metabolism of 10 microg/ml of estradiol incubated with 10 microg/ml and 100 microg/ml IP showed no marked inhibition. When IP (20 microg/ml) was incubated with 0.5 microg/ml propranolol, 0.5 microg/ml propafenone or 5.0 microg/ml estradiol respectively the metabolic activity of IP was markedly inhibited compared with control group (P<0.05 P<0.05 P<0.02 respectively).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The results indicate that there is an interaction between ipriflavone and propafenone during in vitro metabolism, and there might also be clinical significance.</p>
