ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the effect of student standardized patients in experimental teaching of Internal Medicine Nursing. Methods:Totally 440 undergraduate students in Batch 2016 from the Nursing Department of Chengdu Medical College were divided into 9 groups with 5-6 students in each group. The situational teaching method of students' standardized patients playing clinical cases was adopted in internal medicine experimental teaching, and the teaching effect was evaluated by the questionnaire survey after the class. Results:More than 90.45% (398/440) of the students thought that this teaching method could enhance the ability of knowledge understanding and memorizing, 91.36% (402/440) of them thought that it could improve their corporation with classmates, 90.23% (397/440) of them thought that various abilities such as clinical thinking could be improved, and 87.27% (384/440) of them were satisfied with it.Conclusion:Applying standardized patients to the experimental teaching of internal medicine nursing is effective and can stimulate students' learning enthusiasm, thus improving the teaching effect.

ABSTRACT

Objective:The application effect of simulation teaching based on Miller pyramid theory in the training of new obstetric nurses.Methods:Thirty-six new nurses in obstetrics rotation in 2019 were selected as the observation group, trained by the simulation teaching method based on Miller pyramid theory, and 32 new nurses in 2018 were selected as the control group, following the traditional training method. After the study, t test was used to compare the theoretical examination scores, operational assessment results, clinical comprehensive quality, and training satisfaction of the two groups. Results:The scores of theoretical examinations, operational assessments, clinical comprehensive quality in the observation group were significantly superior to those in the control group, ( P<0.05, P<0.001), and the training satisfaction of the experimental group was over 88%. Conclusion:Simulation teaching based on Miller Pyramid Theory is beneficial for new obstetric nurses to understand and apply professional theoretical knowledge, improve their obstetric operation skills and ability of solving practical clinical problems, and improve their training satisfaction.

ABSTRACT

It remains controversial whether tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α antagonism is effective for asthma. This meta-analysis was performed to evaluate efficacy of TNF-α antagonism in treatment of patients with asthma. MEDLINE, EMBASE, LILACS, and CINAHL databases were searched for English-language studies published through January 3, 2010. Randomized-controlled trials comparing TNF-α antagonism with control therapy were selected. For each report, data were extracted in relation to the outcomes analyzed: asthma exacerbation, asthma quality of life questionnaire scores, and forced expiratory volume in 1 second. Four assessable trials were identified including 641 patients with asthma. TNF-α antagonism therapy was superior to control therapy in preventing exacerbations in asthmatics [pooled odds ratio 0.52 (95% confidence interval 0.29-0.88), P=0.02]; however, there was a nonsignificant reduction in asthma quality of life questionnaire scores [0.23 (0 to 0.47), P=0.05], forced expiratory volume in 1 second [0.03, (-0.14 to 0.10), P=0.74] when analyzed using standardized mean differences. TNF-α antagonism was superior to control chemotherapy in terms of asthma exacerbation, but not asthma quality of life questionnaire scores or forced expiratory volume in 1 second.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the value of detection of telomerase activity by fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) of thyroid mass in the preoperative diagnosis of thyroid cancer. Methods Comparation of the results of detection of telomerase activity and biopsy of the of samples of thyroid masses aspirated by fine needle guided by B-us were performed .The results were compared to the postoperative pathological results. Results Of the 32 cases of thyroid carcinomas, the correct diagnostic rate of FNAB was 43.8%, while the positive rate of telomerase activity was 75.0%, the difference between the two examinations was significant ( P
