ABSTRACT

Objective To understand the epidemiological characteristics of pneumoconiosis through analyzing the data of pneumoconiosis cases in Liuzhou from 2006 to 2018, and to provide a scientific basis for the prevention and control of pneumoconiosis in Liuzhou. Methods The information of pneumoconiosis cases in Liuzhou was collected through the “health hazard factors monitoring information system”, a subsystem of China's disease prevention and control system, and the epidemiological characteristics of pneumoconiosis were statistically analyzed by descriptive statistics. Results A total of 160 cases of pneumoconiosis was collected, mainly stage I silicosis, accounting for 70.0% of total cases (n=112). Most of the cases were from the metal smelting and rolling industry, accounting for 82.5% of total cases (n=132). The occupation of patients was mainly smelting and auxiliary work, sintering, and mining, accounting for 23.13% (n=37), 27.50% (n=44) and 18.13% (n=29) of the total number of pneumoconiosis cases, respectively. Among them, 83.75% (n=134) were from large-scale enterprises. Most of the pneumoconiosis cases had 15 to 35 years of dust exposure, with an average dust exposure of 23.78±10.36 years. The age of onset was mainly concentrated in 45 to 60 years old, and the average age of onset was 55.61±10.28 years. Conclusion The cases of pneumoconiosis in Liuzhou existed in sporadic form in recent years, and the cases were mainly concentrated in large metal smelting enterprises, with smelting and auxiliary workers and sintering workers being the most serious. It is necessary to strengthen the occupational health management of large metal smelting enterprises to effectively prevent and control the occurrence of pneumoconiosis.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate clinical characteristics of cerebrovascular disease complicated with secondary epilepsy in the elderly, and to provide the targeted health care measures. Methods:The 106 elderly patients with epilepsy secondary to cerebrovascular diseases treated in Three Gorges Hospital Affiliated to Chongqing University were enrolled as the epilepsy group, and another 106 patients with single cerebrovascular disease without secondary epilepsy during same period were included as the control group.Clinical features and epileptic seizure activity were observed and analyzed, and the targeted health care measures were developed. Results:The proportions of patients with cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral lobe infarction, cortical dysfunction and abnormal brain waves were higher in the epilepsy group [ 66.99%(71 cases), 68.87%(73 cases), 83.02%(88 cases), 70.75%(75 cases), respectively]than in the control group(43.40% or 46 cases, 46.23% or 49 cases, 61.32% or 65 cases, 53.77% or 57 cases)( χ2=11.921、11.121、12.424、6.505, all P<0.05). NFD scores before treatment had no significant difference between the epilepsy group and the control group(22.7±4.8 vs.23.4±5.1, t=1.029, P=0.152). NFD score after 3 months of treatment was higher in the epilepsy group than in the control group(14.3±2.9 vs.10.1±2.5, t=11.294, P=0.000). Conclusions:Epilepsy is a common complication of various cerebrovascular diseases, among which the cerebral hemorrhage is the most common.Polyloencephalopathy and cortical involvement can increase the risk of epilepsy in patients with cerebrovascular diseases. Therefore, it is very important to provide the necessary treatment and health care, so as to reduce the impact of epileptic seizure on the disease condition and improve prognosis in patients with cerebrovascular disease.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the complaints made at government hotlines against a children′s hospital in 2016 and 2017, and to provide reference for the continuous construction of harmonious doctor-patient relationship. Methods This study retrospectively analyzed 2720 cases of " 12345 " hotline complaints received by a children′s hospital in the years from 2016 to 2017. The causes for complaints were counted and the changes in the content of the appeals were compared. Data analysis was performed using statistical methods such as descriptive analysis and chi-square test. Results Lack of medical resources became the primary cause of complaints, accounting for 30. 4% ; complaints caused by poor communication between doctors and patients were high in the emergency department and inpatient department, accounting for 21. 7% and 20. 0% respectively. Compared with 2016, medical treatment complaints in 2017 caused by insufficient resources and medical behavior increased by 18. 9% and 5. 3% , respectively, and complaints caused by doctor-patient communication problems decreased by 7. 5% . Conclusions In order to reduce medical complaints, it is proposed to increase policy support, improve medical resources, strengthen communication between doctors and patients, pay attention to humanistic care, improve hospital quality management, improve patient experience, pay attention to changes in complaints and improve medical services.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To prepare mesopocous molecular sieve SBA-15 surface molecularly imprinted polymer (SBA-15@MIP),and analyze the application of SBA-15@MIP in the determination of active micro-component. METHODS:Using baica-lein as the template molecule, acrylamide(AM)as the function monomer,tetrahydrofuran/ethanol(3∶2,V/V)as the polymeriza-tion solvent, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate(EGDMA)as the cross-linker,and 2,2-azobisisobutyronitrile(AIBN)as the initiator, SBA-15@MIP was synthesized on the surface of mesopocous molecular sieve SBA-15. The surface morphology and structure of the obtained polymer were characterized by TEM and FT-IR. Finally, the imprinted polymer was used as an adsorbent for solid-phase extraction (SPE) to detect baicalein in plasma samples by HPLC. RESULTS:It revealed that the well-ordered one-dimensional pore structure of SBA-15 was still preserved in the successful synthesized SBA-15@MIP,and baicalein molecule was imprinted suc-cessfully. The limit of detection(LOD)and limit of quantification(LOQ)for baicalein in plasma were 3.5 ng/ml and 11.6 ng/ml, respectively;the average recovery was 94.4%(RSD=2.9%). CONCLUSIONS:SBA-15@MIP is prepared successfully, and can be applied for the determination of active micro-component.

ABSTRACT

Background and purpose:The quality of life and psychological status of the advanced cancer patients has been widely valued. This study aimed to analyze the psychological status of the advanced cancer patients and its influence factors. Methods:The patients who were hospitalized in the palliative care department of Fudan University Cancer Center from Sep. 2011 to Mar. 2013 were included in this study. Self-rating anxiety scale(SAS), self-rating depression scale (SDS), EORTC QLQ-C30, social support revalued scale and symptom checklist 90 (SCL-90) were recorded and analyzed.Results:Fifty-six patients were included in this study, 18 were depression and 24 were anxiety while 16 of them were depression together with anxiety. The patients were divided into 2 groups according to their psychological status. There’s no signiifcant difference between the age and the social support between the two groups, while the mental disorders group have lower scores on body function, role function, emotional function and social function. The mental disorders were positive correlated with the symptoms score while negative correlated with the quality of life. Conclusion:There’s a high ratio of mental disorders in advanced cancer patients, the symptom scores and quality of life are related to mental disorders. We should pay more attention to the patients who were suffered more from the illness or had lower QOL scores.

ABSTRACT

Background and purpose:How to predict the survival length for terminally cancer patients is very important, it will help families and physicians to make decisions. This study aimed to reveal the factors related to the survival time of terminally ill cancer patients who received palliative care in our hospital. Methods:The clinical data of 271 dead patients treated in the Department of Palliative Care, Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center from Mar. 2007 to Mar. 2012 were analyzed. The Kaplan-Meier method and the log-rank test were used to determine the corresponding factors with survival. Cox regression model was used to examine the independent prognostic factors. Different survival length of groups divided by different prognostic indexes was compared by log-rank test. Results:Seven factors were found to be related with the survival according to univariate analysis. The related factors were Karnofsky performance score (P<0.001), dyspnea (P=0.037), delirium (P=0.015), high white blood cell count (P=0.012), low lymphocyte percentage (P=0.030), high lactate dehydrogenase (P<0.001) and low serum albumin (P=0.001). The multivariate analysis selected four independent factors:Karnofsky performance score<30, high lactate dehydrogenase, low serum albumin and delirium. Conclusion:The study shows the clinical survival prognostics with Chinese characteristics. The combination of the seven factors may be useful but more studies in this area deserve further investigated.
