ABSTRACT

number of goblet cells, mucus secretion and mucin MUC5AC content in lung tissues. Results S100A9 in BALF of group B was (11.89±0.77) ng/mL, S100A9 integrated optical density (IOD) value in airway epithelial cells was 13.96±1.62, PAS stain area /epithelial cell area was (12.53±1.21)%, relative value of MUC5AC / NADPH was 173.91±4.29, all of the above were higher than those of group A [(6.19±0.61) ng/mL, 4.97±0.30, (1.94±0.18)%, 1];S100A9 levels, IOD of S100A9 in airway epithelial cells, PAS stain area / epithelial cell area (%), relative value of MUC5AC / NADPH in group C [(10.69±0.79) ng / ml, 11.80±0.72, (10.61±0.61)%, 94.65±1.59], group D[(9.49±0.99) ng/mL, 10.39±0.59, (8.63±0.62)%, 82.08±1.12], group E [(7.54± 0.42) ng/mL, 5.63±0.84, (4.59±0.87)%, 26.30±1.94] were lower than group B, which showed a dose-dependent reduction and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion DB downregulates the expression level of Ca2+-binding protein S100A9 and the mucus secretion amount of the airway goblet cells in rats.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the effect of denatonium benzoaten on α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA),subepithelial collagen and airway inflammation in asthmu mice. Methods Forty-five BALB/c mice were divided into 3 groups, normal control group (A group),asthma model group (B group),asthma model+ denatonium benzoaten group(C group);α-SMA detected by using immunohistochemistry, lung sections were stained with Masson to detect subepithelial collagen,HE stain method was used to observe the airway inflammation the images were analyzed with semi-quantitative computer. Results The deposition of α-SMA、subepithelial collagen and inflammation degree in C group was significantly reduced compared with B group, the difference were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Denatonium benzoaten can improve airway remodeling in asthmatic mice.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze and identify the chemical constituents of essential oil from the fruits of Cinnamomum camphora chvar. Borneol. Methods The essential oil from the fruits was extracted by steam distillation and its chemical constituents were analyzed and identified by GC-MS. Results Fifty compounds were separated, and 42 kinds of which accounting for 99.536% were identified. D-borneol was the most abundant compound, of which the amount was 50.684%of the total constituents. Conciusion This present study demonstrated higher content of natural D-borneol, providing scientific basis for further exploration and utilization of the fruits of Cinnamomum camphora chvar. Borneol.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo study the conjugation reaction characteristics of caffeic acid micromolecule cistanoside F and bovine serum albumin.

METHODThe interaction between bovine serum albumin (BSA) and cistanoside F that was separated from Callicarpa plant for the first time and abbreviated CF was detected by fluorescence (FS), UV-vis absorbance and circular dichroism (CD) under simulative physiological conditions.

RESULTCF-BSA's static apparent binding constant (K(a)), number of binding sites (n), efficiency of energy transfer (E), spatial distance (r), thermodynamic parameters deltaG, deltaH and deltaS and changes in alpha-helical structure content in BSA before and after CF's effect were calculated to define the binding site of CF in BSA and analyze the impact of several common metal ions on the interaction of CF and BSA.

CONCLUSIONGround state compounds formed by CF and BSA could cause intrinsic fluorescence quenching. Their binding constant K(a) of cistanoside F with BSA was 4.36 x 10(4) L x mol at 25 degrees C, the number of binding site n was 1, and the spatial distance r was 3.09 nm. The results indicated that the hydrogen bond played a major role in cistanoside F-BSA association. The displacement experiments confirmed that cistanoside F can bind to site I of BSA. In addition, the binding constant of cistanoside F with BSA was enhanced after the addition of some common metal ions Mg2+, Fe3+, Cu2+ and Zn2+. The intrinsic fluorescence of BSA was quenched by cistanoside F via forming cistanoside F-BSA complex and non-radiation energy transfer. CD spectra showed that the binding of cistanoside F with BSA induced conformational changes in BSA.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the curative effect of neoadjuvant chemotherapy via arterial infusion on advanced colorectal carcinoma. Methods One hundred and twenty-eight advanced colorectal carcinoma patients in stage Ⅱ B or Ⅲ were randomly divided into 2 groups. Sixty-eight cases received preoperative arterial infusion chemotherapy( the treatment group),and chemotherapy regimen consist of Oxaliplatin(L-OHP) 130 mg/m2, Hydroxycamptothecin (HCPT) 20 mg/m2 and Dexifluridine (FUDR)600 mg/m2. Femoral arterial infusion chemotherapy administrated 8 ~ 14 days preoperative. Sixty cases received surgery directly(the control group). The adverse reaction and histology effect after arterial infusion chemotherapy were observed, and resection rate, complications, pathology stage, together with long term survival were compared. Results Adverse reaction were mostly grade Ⅰ -Ⅱ gastrointestinal discomfort and bone marrow depression with arterial infusion chemotherapy. Resection rate was 97. 1% (66/68) ,and 64 cases(96. 9%) underwent raclical (R0) resection in the treatment group, which were higher than those in the the control group(73. 3%(44/60) and 79. 5%,respectively) (x2 = 14. 848,8. 906, Ps < 0. 05). Histology effect of the treatment group was 72. 7%, and the pathology stage downstaged compared to preopeartion. Percent of patients in stage Ⅱ in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group( P < 0. 05). The median survival time of test group was 53. 0 months, 1- ,3-,and 5-year survival rates were 95.3%,85.9% and 44.6%, respectively. In the control group, the median survival time was 42.0 months, 1-, 3-, and 5-year survival rates were 92.6%, 75.9% and 22.0%,respectively. There was significant difference in 5-year survival rate(x2 = 6. 385, P < 0. 05). No difference in postoperative complications between two groups(P > 0. 05). Conclusion The neoadjuvant chemotherapy via arterial infusion is of great significance on downstnging the pathology of advanced colorectal carcinoma, raising the excision rate, especially radical resection, and long term survival rate.
